Re: MLBtS ‘25 Franchise Team Thread

Last 2 years I rebuilt the Pirates and Rockies.
While also having my RTTS player on the Rangers and Blue Jays.

I am between 2 teams for my franchise, Seattle and Minnesota (I like to rotate divisions after spending last 12 months in primarily AL East and NL West.)

Problem with Minnesota is the batter's eye is such a pain and impossible to hit with first 2-3 innings of a game sometimes.

If that's fixed, then I can consider doing my franchise there.

The Twins are on my AL list as well now. Fangraphs is doing those ZiPS Projections, where they show of the WAR for everyone in the lineup and looking through their team there are so many interesting names. And you don't have to worry about injuries too much, like they have to in real life.

Having 4 teams on a similar level in a division just sounds so interesting.

I'm leaning towards using the Mariners this season. Used the Braves in 21, 22, and 24, and the A's in 23. The Braves being essentially the same roster as last year means I don't feel bad about missing out on using anyone.

Hopefully they fix the OF wall colors this year so T-Mobile Park is right.

I am an offline player who loves storylines and realism. I also love a rebuild. Unfortunately, I have noticed in my many years of playing that it is rare for teams to make a huge leap or a huge drop off without doing [emoji639][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]] team control. This is what I’ll be doing with a focus on the Marlins at the start but might just control the entire league and try to flip the standings over a decade.

I have strictly played with my Minnesota Twins every year since 2019. I listen to podcasts, watch the games, tracks stats, etc. So I pretty much know everything about the team and know how to use them realistically (bullpen, defensive subs, pitcher catcher combos, prospects, etc.). That being said, it’s getting a little old and I am thinking maybe Pirates this year. Rebuilding team with cool young pieces. Will limit Skenes innings early. Cool stadium and jerseys. National league will be fun change of pace

If Rays didn't play in Tropicana and/or Stadium Creator didn't make sucky stadiums, I'd probably be all over a Rays franchise. Even better if they went back to the Devil Rays colors.

I am as predictable as the sun rising in the East.

                  The New York Yankees.

Gonna prove we can absolutely get back to the World Series without Juan “show me my family suite” Soto.

And watch Soto sitting at home…..counting his money in October and November while we hoist #20 above our heads.

I'm gonna stick with my A's and rebrand the team and move them back Oakland. Either in a new stadium from the vault or the Coliseum if it's still in the game. FJF

The problem I have with rebranding is that we lose all the throwback jerseys and only get a home and away jersey to create.

Damn that's disappointing. Maybe I'll just change the stadium.

Re: MLBtS ‘25 Franchise Team Thread

After looking at some stadiums in 24 again I came to a decision for my team. I really love the D-Backs roster, but I dislike their stadium very much in the game. Especially the view from the pitcher is not very aesthetically pleasing to me and since that is what I will see the most(I am bad at pitching) I don't think I can take that.

The Cubs are a bit too stacked for me right now. I don't think there is much more room to improvement on my side.

And Boston? I just can't do it.

So I decided to adopt the Minnesota Twins as my team for 2025! Some of the reasons:

                          - they won the division 9 times in the last 25 years but made it out of the ALDS just once since then and that was in 02. Which leads to them having the worst postseason winning% in MLB(37,9%)
                          - the last World Series was before I was born
                          - with the Tigers making major moves now and the Royals getting better as well the division is just so interesting. The Guardians doing Guardians things anyway so you know they won't go away. A 4 team race for the division is just fun
                          - They have a perfect mix of key pieces (Correa, Lewis, Buxton) and needs on offense (DH, 2nd, corner OF)
                          - I really like the 1-2 punch of Lopez and Ryan as Starting Pitchers. Behind that there is at least a solid option with Ober and some talent. But they still could make a move for another starter, which is always a good setup

I know they work on budget limitations that won't be portrayed in the game correctly, so I will try to establish some house rules. And I will create the missing japanese players myself with the scouting data available, so I can go into the save right from the Early Access.

                          I am so hyped!

Target Field is one of my favorite stadiums in the game, so the Twins have that going for them too.

Let us know what house rules you come up with. I have the feeling that turning off budgets and implementing some type of house rules are going to be necessary to keep things “realistic” with how crazy mlb free agency has gotten recently.

I think opening up a thread about that closer to release would make sense, I would bet some here are already use some and would have a very good input on that.
