Great idea! There are for sure lots of great “house rules and work arounds” out there.

I haven't decided if I am staying on 24 or moving to 25 yet. The jury is still out. It will be until after the franchise news comes out.

Either way, my plans will be the same.

I am going to do a 100 years of Guardians history simulation dynasty and maybe share in the baseball dynasties section (that part is still undecided) to see how much hardware I can accumulate in 100 years. They have won 2 world series titles in the last 104 years so we will see if we can beat that.

I may pick the best year out of it and play an individual season on a separate save file as well.

The plans are the same no matter which of the 2 iterations I use.

I’m pleased to see how much people are engaging in this!

I’m a Mets fan but it’s always impossible for me to play any sports games as my favorite team lol

For that reason, I’m torn between the Angels and Rockies. I love the rebuild idea but that’s what I usually default too, there is a chance I take a team like the Blue Jays who are in a bit of flux at the moment.

Either way, I can’t wait to hear about all of your franchise journeys!

Colorado is always a fun team to roll with but I'll be damned if ever choose any LA team to play as, lol.

What I've done with the Rockies is go against the grain and try to build a team with pitching as it's strength. Not an easy accomplishment, but so much fun.

I did an Angels rebuild, traded Trout for prospects. It was pretty fun

Nope, can't do it. Lakers, Dodgers, Angels, Clippers, won't touch them. The only LA team I didn't hate was LA Raiders.

Right now, I don't hate the Chargers or Rams, still think San Diego when I hear ''Chargers'', and Kurt Warner, Greatest Show On Turf St. Louis when thinking Rams. But I'll give it time. I'm sure I'll grow to hate the Chargers and Rams too eventually.

And I don't hate Trout, tried plenty of times to get the Angels to trade him to me, never succeeded.

Yeah it was out of the ordinary for me to use an LA or NY team, so i hear ya.

I was really looking for something different and I justified it by saying the Angels have been a mess I and was going to save them and become the new LA powerhouse.

                I did not succeed. Lol

I just finished my season with the Reds on MLB 24. Finished with 94 wins and about to start a NLDS vs the Phillies.

For 2025 I will continue with another Reds franchise. Bryan had the great idea of copy and pasting my top draft pick so I plan to do that. 96 potential SS/INF so the Reds infield will be that much deeper.

I really hope Francona is on the game and on the deep dive they have finally made managers matter more inside a game

Especially the view from the pitcher is not very aesthetically pleasing to me and since that is what I will see the most(I am bad at pitching) I don't think I can take that.

The Cubs are a bit too stacked for me right now. I don't think there is much more room to improvement on my side.

And Boston? I just can't do it.

So I decided to adopt the Minnesota Twins as my team for 2025! Some of the reasons:

                    - they won the division 9 times in the last 25 years but made it out of the ALDS just once since then and that was in 02. Which leads to them having the worst postseason winning% in MLB(37,9%)
                    - the last World Series was before I was born
                    - with the Tigers making major moves now and the Royals getting better as well the division is just so interesting. The Guardians doing Guardians things anyway so you know they won't go away. A 4 team race for the division is just fun
                    - They have a perfect mix of key pieces (Correa, Lewis, Buxton) and needs on offense (DH, 2nd, corner OF)
                    - I really like the 1-2 punch of Lopez and Ryan as Starting Pitchers. Behind that there is at least a solid option with Ober and some talent. But they still could make a move for another starter, which is always a good setup

I know they work on budget limitations that won't be portrayed in the game correctly, so I will try to establish some house rules. And I will create the missing japanese players myself with the scouting data available, so I can go into the save right from the Early Access.

                    I am so hyped!
Have either of you spent much time in game at Target Field? I only ask bcause I also am leaning towards a Twins franchise or RTTS but the batter's eye has given me much trouble in the past. Typically the first 2 innings are very tough to hit

Desperately hoping they fix Target Field and Angels Stadium. Both have issues with viability. Target Field is obvious but at Angels Stadium certain release points on pitches go into the sky (above fans in outfield, where the highway is irl) and that little white baseball goes invisible.

I would say that’s definitely against the grain BUT probably the only actual way they’ll be competitive again.

If I do the Rockies I’m gonna put a lot of emphasis on pitching and reclamation projects. Like.. Alek Manoah type guys, maybe Sixto Sanchez. See if I can find a dud and turn them into a stud.

Then draft pitchers and get some in free agency. Would be a blast!

My rebuild last year was with the Rockies. I ended up have a great offense (Two Generational Prospects in year 2 and 3 drafts helped a ton (1B and 2B, one was Power one was speed, they didn't leave my lineup until 2045)

My pitching staff included a lot of rookies who I drafted after the 1st round, average around 78-82 OVR, B potential, see what I could get out of them in the rotation for 6 years and let them walk. They never had a great season but floated around 12-9 with a 4.10 ERA. But they were good inning eaters.

The difference maker in my opinion is the bullpen. I drafted an A potential 82 OVR Closer and he had a high stamina so he'd go for 2 inning saves all the time.
I also had a good long man in the bullpen.

Going into it, I was fearful of the pitching but it added a very fun challenge. The offense was easy, building the rotation and bottom of a bullpen was the hard part.

Now I'm looking forward to building a dominate pitching staff and squeaking out 3 runs a game to win title.

I usually like to rebuild teams, but I couldn't stick with a team last year. May go a different direction this year. Trying to decide between....

Tampa - primed for relocation to Montreal!
Seattle - get to rid baseball of the *'s
Twins - like the stadium/division, but that batters eye.....
                            Guardians - like the stadium/division
Miami - like stadium & get to take down Braves/Phillies
Giants - like stadium, get to beat dodgers
                            Rockies - see Giants

I played 2 games yesterday there and I think that is something I could get used to without that big of a problem.

I mean, if that is the park you see the most it should be easy to adjust.

You're right in that if you play in it the most often, in theory you should learn how to hit there by practice and learning.

However, this has been an issue within the game for years. I've played many games as visiting Franchise and RTTS teams and it hasn't gotten easier.

It also is month/time/weather dependent, as well as the camera angle you hit with. Your 2 games may have been outliers in regards to those. I suggest playing in July at 7pm, Clear skies and let me know how you perform offensively first 2-3 innings against top pitcher.

At least in my experience, it's a perfect game through 3 until the shadows cover the batter's eye
