Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
I wish I could say I was surprised but I'm not. Being disappointed by this game's lack of visual improvement has become a yearly tradition for me, going on now for the better part of the decade. Like my god, would a modern dirt texture or a decent looking grass system just completely destroy the fabric of this game or something? These aren't new complaints.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
Well this is completely deflating. I saw this coming when they said they were still supporting the switch, but I was still holding out hope that there was gonna be a big graphical upgrade. Unfortunately, if you told me these screenshots were from any of the shows from 18-24, I would believe you. Even small details like updating the belt loops on the pants to the new Nike template haven’t been addressed. This just further proves they don’t intend on updating the uniform templates at all. Really disappointing, I’m really hoping maybe the trailer will show a big difference compared to these screenshots, because right now I’m considering not purchasing on launch and waiting until it’s on saleComment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
Just curious. Who is going to put out a game that can even match The Show? Was it RBI baseball that recently failed miserably? I’m not sure there will ever be competition and the growing pains for a new game would have to be time consuming.
As far as the graphics. I’m fine with them. Can they weak them….sure. For me it’s also about animations, etc. I’m looking forward to the trailer.
Let them ever make an MLB game and it’s a wrap for SDSComment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
Seeing these is just completely deflating. Crushes all the anticipation I had from earlier in the week when they announced no last gen support. I can’t imagine caring this little about my craft, especially when you have the privilege of a job like working on the most popular baseball video game in the world. Take some pride in your work for once, SDS.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
While I would love to see improvements to the field textures and player models, I thought last year’s version took a solid step in terms of lighting, and specifically the players faces.
And with the Pro, and a capable tv, I’m really hoping SDS is able to utilize the extra capabilities.
The game looks decently better than MLB the Show (way better in still images), but the gameplay is slightly worse in my opinion. Still a hell of a lot of fun to play, but a lot of the animations look weird.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
While trying to stay positive, this is what happens when there is no competition combined with the fact that the PS5 hardware is extremely underpowered compared to modern day PC's and the fact that this particular game is heavily marketed as an online card collecting game. As long as the micro transactions keep rolling in there really isn't much reason to make other aspects of the game the best they can possibly be. The game looks good and plays good (for the most part) and for most people that's good enough.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
The problem is also that a lot of people don’t have nice new TVs, so they think the game has awful lighting and graphics when it’s actually their TV. I’m not going to say the game is leading the charge in graphical improvements, but when I got my Series X and my new TV (LG C2), it looked drastically improved. If you have an older TV, you’ll never see that in most games since it’s scaled down.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
The game needs to use a better graphics engine. People kept sayin that the PS4 version was holding it back, but that's not the reason it doesn't get graphical upgrades.
The PS5 version looks much better than the Switch version. I think that proves that the graphics for the PS5 version aren't limited by versions of the game released for lesser hardware.

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots
Yep for some reason they refuse to update the stiff and outdated low resolution uniform assets they’ve been using since the ps3 era. Which isn’t even an exaggeration, they’re literally the same from the ps3. The show is the only sports video game that doesn’t update uniforms to match the current uniform templates in their respective sport.Comment
