I'll say it once, and I'll say it again...rather have a deeper franchise, more depth to RTTS and gameplay improvements. I'd rather be spoiled with that.

Improved grass and dirt, more realistic uniforms (option for top buttons open, better field stains after a slide etc) moving chains, tattoos. Basically everything that makes the game come more alive and real.

Having said that, gameplay comes first but that’s already in a pretty good place. A deeper franchise, RTTS etc is also welcome but why can’t we have a little bit of everything I mean there is a special graphics department that’s not working on a deeper franchise so why do some people bring it like we have to choose one or the other?

Better dirt and grass textures, better uniform physics(uniforms that actually move and aren't static), different uniform types(being able to unbutton buttons on the jerseys, for example) LED signs in parks to actually be illuminated during night games, going daylight to dark dynamically and not just changing between pitches, ray tracing, better player models, skin that doesn't look like it's made out of clay, ya know, stuff like that.

I agree, I also want deeper franchise modes and all of that stuff, but why does it always have to be either or with this game? Why can't it be both? Other games manage to have great graphics and great gameplay, so why can't this one? I get they're a small team, but we;ve had basically the same graphics for a decade now. I don't think it's unreasonable to want them to advance a bit. Now, don't get me wrong, the graphics aren't bad at all, I'd say they're even better than fine. But they aren't where they should be. Look at how much having moving hair did last year. If they could just improve certain things it would go a long way with immersion.

The visual fluff is all fine and dandy, but personally, I just want a good game of baseball.

I guess im just getting old, and have lived through some pretty large leaps in graphical technology. It's time for these games to not just LOOK pretty, but play pretty as well.

I agree, I want a great game of baseball as well, which we have. But again, why does it have to be either or? It's not unreasonable to expect both. I've been playing games since around 1987 so I've been through many, many technological advancements as well. Getting old isn't a reason to accept subpar graphics.

Re: MLB The Show 25 Screenshots

First, let me state that I am a dedicated fan of MLB the Show. I have purchased the game every year starting in 2011 and already plan to purchase the digital deluxe edition for 25. That being said, when I saw the YouTube videos of the Konami Baseball Spirits game I went ahead and ordered it in part for comparison purposes.

I must say that the closeup graphics of the players and stadiums is amazing in the Konami game. When it rains the water droplets on the batting helmets look very realistic. They apparently achieve these results by using the "Unreal Engine" which is apparently used by a number of different video games.

In about every other way of course I prefer MLB the Show (except possibly bunting). The fielders certainly move more realistically in MLB the Show. (I do kind of like how pitching is handled in the Konami game.)

My point is this. Having seen the Konami game, I see what at least should be possible.

In all fairness and respect, you are asking the wrong person.

Id love for everyone to get what they want. I am just saying from my view, graphics are not everything. Would I enjoy all the stuff mentioned? Absolutely, but it won't make or break me. The game being the same rehash in terms of franchise or rtts features is what will be the deciding factor. Im more than happy to stick to 23 or 24 this year. I'm sure I can find a roster.

I want to see better bullpen management (like everyone else). I want pinch hitters to be sent up based on righty/lefty matchups or even for weak hitting players late in the game when down by a run or two and men on base. I want to see dropped flyballs every now and then. Balls lost in the sun animations. I want to see more different slide animations...it's ok to use leg first slide and pop up slides...not just head first. I want the create a stadium functionality to be enhanced to have less foul territory and bullpens where the can/should be. Those would be great additions to increase the realism aspect.

Everyone relax. I mean if the game plays well, we get some solid fixes to the things that are broken than the graphics will continue to improve. Lets get a great game on the field then worry about graphics. The amount of games that have come out on consoles where the graphics were top notch but the game actually sucks is probably in the hundreds. We not looking at PS1 graphics here. They are still good looking graphics. Game play first above all else

I would have to agree. Just go into the PS store. There are lots of games, lots that are graphically dated looking. I play on a really good t.v. and I just don’t understand the horror of the way this game looks. Yeah, the rain in the other game looks good, but have you looked at the grass? It’s no different than The Show. So, always something to criticize.

Bottom line for me. I’m not going to let that danged blue circle ruin my immersion of what is an, overall, terrific fantasy get-away for me. The game/options/gameplay, etc. is loaded with fun.

Bring on the trailer and March 13 9PM PST. I’m ready for some newness and fun.

They really managed to build my hype only to crush it into a fine paste in a matter of days. Really thought there was a huge graphics overhaul in the works the last few years.

Whatever, I just want franchise mode to get a lot of improvements. That's my make or break on if I'll be buying. Unfortunately I doubt it will happen but we'll see what the streams bring.

There are rain and sweat effects in '24. I'm not sure what these guys aren't seeing. You can see sweat running down players faces in '24.

This thread is pure chaos. You suddenly have guys who never comment on these boards popping up to say "I'm not buying the game because ....screenshots" .

This type of response is the exact problem with this game. I've been playing this game since '09 and coming to these forums for as long as I can remember and every single year it's the same damn thing.

Years ago, when the gameplay itself was less than stellar, I had to endure the "SDS is a small company" excuse.

Then the gameplay improved, but the graphics hit a stalemate and the excuse became, "don't worry, it'll be better next year."

After that it was, "well the console power is holding it back."

Now it's, "well, I don't care so much about the graphics so long as the gameplay is good." Now couple this with certain users defending this game to death and conveniently disappearing when absurd screenshots like this are released, while blatantly insulting and degrading anyone who criticizes the developers and you get what we get now.

                          A product stuck in time.

I have the Konami game and another user above worded it perfectly. The game is graphically leaps and bounds ahead of the show, though, in my opinion, the gameplay in that game is honestly not even close to the show. The pitcher/batter matchups leave much to be desired due to almost no foul balls, no working the count and very few walks. The fielding in that game is honestly subpar at best. And other things, such as confidence and energy don't seem to have any impact on the game. But the graphics are on another level compared to the show and that's what we need from this game now.

The gameplay is in a good place. It's time to focus on the graphics because using player models and field textures from the show '16 simply isn't acceptable anymore. We need to demand more for our $70+ every single year.
