Ambush will not tip you off to the pitch location regardless of guessing the correct side of the plate. It's going to enlarge your PCI (by one difficulty level) on the two-thirds that you guess (including the middle third which will always count for either guess) regardless of where the pitch is going. It will also reduce it by two difficulty levels on the third that you don't guess, regardless of which side the ball goes to.

It's similar to guess pitch with no feedback, but even then there's a slightly different nuance to it as the increase/penalty applies regardless of the pitch location.
So you're saying that them (SDS) showing the PCI getting bigger or smaller based on correctly or incorrectly guessing the side of the plate the pitch won't tip me off? What did they make not clear enough?

Unless I'm looking at that wrong that will clearly tip me off immediately. Now if I can hit the ball is another story LOL.

The PCI will not get bigger or smaller based on whether you are right. It will be bigger in the part you chose and get dynamically smaller as you move it out of the zone you guessed.

Say you are guessing/sitting on an inside pitch. Your PCI will be bigger while it is inside even if the actual pitch is way outside. On the other hand, that outside pitch will be harder to square up as your PCI size will decrease as you move it outside to try and catch up to the pitch.

The only thing that the PCI size change will "tip you off" on is your own guess. It will not matter where the ball is going. If you guess inside for example, it doesn't matter if the ball is pitched inside or outside - the PCI's growing/shrinking behavior is going to stay the same (larger on the inside, smaller on the outside).

I definitely get why all this is confusing - they didn't explain it well and kept saying "if you guess right" or "if you guess wrong" when explaining the feature which made it seem much more like guess pitch than I think it really is

            Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Now this makes sense and they did an absolute terrible job in explaining that, or at the least terrible for me. LOL.

            Appreciate the feedback here!

Thank you for this explanation, and it made sense, lol.

Will the CPU use ambush hitting? I really hope so, anything that can make their hitters more dynamic would be very welcomed
