Two things I wish were addressed that don't seem to be:

1) full speed running still looks very mechanical. Sliding, catching, fielding look really nice, but full speed running looks bleh still.

2) pitcher still don't release the ball aggressively enough. It's still looks like they're soft tossing when they release.

The game looks REALLY nice though, from what I am seeing.

Ok...I am more intrigued by ambush hitting. Will definitely use it during my first Spring Training season to get an in-game feel over several games.

Yeah, seeing that the PCI penalty for swinging outside of your ambush zone is 2x greater than the bonus is for swinging inside it is VERY significant and helps to balance out the feature.

I thought ambush would be too gimmicky but I'm thinking maybe its not.

It has not been answered and this question was asked a ton in chat but I am going to assume now that "Ambush Hitting" is only available for zone hitting.

No biggie to me. I ambush on directional/timed the natural way sitting on pitches.

So all this stuff seems like it is not going to apply to my gameplay style which is:

Directional/Timed Hitting
Classic Pitching
Auto Field/Auto Throw/Auto baserunning
Clean Screen

That's ok.....game is being shown on the standard PS5 and it looks absolutely beautiful and like butter.

Ratings will dictate all my animations. And that's the way I roll.

Looking forward to the Franchise stream and hopefully some new upgrades to Stadium Creator and rebranding.

Not at all....if you are a zone hitter you should absolutely love this new feature. It is how ball players approach the plate in hitters counts. 100%.

This feature has not been confirmed for our style though. Only Zone hitting.

Ambush hitting sounds great to me because that's already how I play using zone. I pick a location and sit there. Might make things a bit easier for players like me who maybe lack the reaction time to aim on the fly but are patient enough to wait for their pitch.

I used to only use timing/directional but the game seems more and more designed for zone.

I originally thought it worked like guess pitch but this is obviously a more toned down take on that. Though as someone who's been playing since the first year it was The Show on the PS2 I kind of miss playing with guess pitch. (I know it's still in the options)

My game style and I agree, but I do manual throw. If the baseball gods didn’t remove the AWFUL blue circle I’m gonna be disappointed. Otherwise…..

The dirt definitely looks better. Looked more like dirt and not asphalt painted brown.

My game style and I agree, but I do manual throw. If the baseball gods didn’t remove the AWFUL blue circle I’m gonna be disappointed. Otherwise…..

Because of the blue circle bug I went to Auto Throw....couldn't take it anymore.....I am going to ping a dev I know about it and hope we see it fixed.

New homerun camera is similar to pro spirits which is a good thing. Did they say anything about GOAT difficulty for pitching ?

Grass and dirt look better, for sure. At least texture wise, in that it looks 3d from a distance. Lighting wise I think the grass is still bit too matte looking and doesn't quite have that reflective sheen to it, but it is absolutely an improvement that I hope will continue to improve in the future.

Is it just me or does the player hair look better this year? Not only long hair styles, but any hair. It's like we're seeing more individual hair strands than in previous years.
