That my point though. The CAP player ID and actual player ID is different. So even if you overwrite the player and put their name in and the stats update, the player ID is different so the face scan wouldn’t carry over. You were creating a glorified CAP that would just have career stats.

I don’t remember it being like that at all.probably coz only ever used osfm rosters who exported accurately and did the face. And the id matched and audio would work if you exported the correct player. once again I’ll say we can’t do this anymore we have to create a rookie CAP from scratch . And generate stats to kill that rookie statue.,at least back then it was just edit name face = done. Y2y best hidden feature.

Besides back in those days they never updated the face anyway and you couldn’t export face scans players

Yes, he would have been in 23 with a face scan.

I just checked. He was not on the 24 default roster, but was in 23. That’s what was confusing me.

This isn’t about updating players that got new face scans, I’m talking about scans that were in the game but the player got removed and then added back in again. For example Eric Thames was in the game with a scan but got removed when he went to KBO. If you carried him over, he’d be removed from the roster in your franchise and you’d have to update him. Part of the issue is that you didn’t know who was removed so you’d have to scan each roster and compare to the previous year to figure out who it was.

Also as I said, when he was added back into the game with his original face scan, you wouldn’t get the face scan because you were using a CAP version of him. You’d also have to hope that the name and career stats worked because it didn’t in every case. Even if the audio name and stats carried over, the player ID was different because CAP player IDs and actual roster player IDs aren’t the same in that case.

It was a great feature, but it wouldn’t necessarily resolve this specific issue with Ian Anderson since as I mentioned, you’d have to create him manually from scratch.

Saying is at least before you could keep career stats and not have to wait 1 month or 2 for a roster update for a face scan player (and not actually knowing if they will) tatis same issue when suspended we all had to wait weeks for that, they need to work a way where we can import players into franchise so not held up for weeks waiting for 1 player with a scan lol

I wish they'd do something to prevent this. There are going to be quite a few big name players who missed all of 2024 (Sandy Alcantara, Matt McClain, Shane McClanahan, Felix Bautista, Matt Brash, Liam Hendricks, Lucas Giolito, Lance McCullers Jr) as well as the foreign players (Sasaki, Kim, Osagawara) who will be missing.
