Re: MLB The Show 25 Early Impressions
[QUOTE=zrtelford;2051050163]Wait a minute; this review seems suspect! How do you review a game with a 9 out of 10 score and not mention a section for "Graphics" this sounds like one of those I got my free copy of early game reviews on YouTube! The Truth Is Out There![/QUO
I have silently followed armor for years. I am an old head franchise guy, and he honestly reminds me of my uncle whom taught me everything I know about sports, and sports gaming, from fantasy football, to dusty diamonds baseball. Armor does his reviews in his style, and If you were on here not trying to be the smartest guy in the room, and wanted to voice your opinion, I think it would be better received if you approached it differently and respected the community here with your tone. Especially a guy like Armor. He deserves it. He's always thorough, smart, concise, and very generous with sliders and their time basically. We all know the graphics on the show aren't the best on the market, but lets be honest, isn't that kind of the entire market as a whole besides a few aberrations? The shows graphics need an upgrade, I mean or go more stylized, but we all know this, and what's the point of him bitching about something that A. isn't that bad, and B. we already can tell by the numerous amount of uploaded videos and screenshots.
The fact that this is a Sony 1st party game and they skipped the ps5 pro version should tell you all you need to know about how they feel about graphics.

Re: MLB The Show 25 Early Impressions
I can’t tell if all this is a gag or not, but I’m beginning to think people who think the graphics are really that bad just need a new/better TV. I say this because while I normally play on a C2 on my XBSX, I just played on my XBSS on my old TV and it looks nowhere near as good and a borderline early XB1/PS4 game. Even on the C2 with the XBSS, it’s not as nice as the XBSX but still looks solid.
I still say the models can be improved (I enjoyed the upgrade this year and think they can take it a step further). But I compared the overall lighting and graphics to Madden, CFB, EAFC, and 2k and it’s pretty close, especially during gameplay.
I have a 77 Samsung s95C which is a top model oled that’s maybe 1 year old and a new 32 inch oled MSI monitor. I also have a c3. It’s not the TVs it’s the game It’s dated. And hell no it looks nothing like those other sports games you mentioned. Game is solid on gameplay but a 6 maybe 7 in graphics.

Re: MLB The Show 25 Early Impressions
First impressions of the intro is I hate it.
Not enough Dodgers and when you do show them against the padres it’s them making a play.
I’ll take my frustrations out in franchise mode.NFL - Las Vegas Raiders
NBA - Los Angeles Lakers
MLB - Los Angeles Dodgers
NHL - Los Angeles Kings
MLS - Los Angeles Galaxy
EPL - Newcastle UnitedComment

Welp…
I thought I would already be playing but apparently the game didn’t install properly so I had to uninstall and reinstall.
Guess I’ll have to wait another hour and change.
Damn.MLB: TORONTO BLUE JAYS
NFL: MINNESOTA VIKINGS
NHL: TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
NBA: TORONTO RAPTORSComment

All ahead of the show, but in my opinion not by as much as it’s made to seem here.
Side topic, C3 is a sick TV and I wish I waited for it, but my other TV went out and if wasn’t released yet. Really helps for gaming and definitely for streaming in UHD as well.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Early Impressions
2k has gone the opposite way in graphics. It used to be the best of the bunch but has gone backwards the last 2 years. FIFA/EAFC stadiums look great, but the players still look off to me (and I’m ignoring the fact that this game has been completely ruined by the awful gameplay since moving to the new gameplay engine). In terms of Madden and CFB, they look great in cutscenes, but the actual gameplay graphics don’t look as good as they should either.

If you can try to get the G series oleds from LG or the Samsung s90/95 series. Way better than the C series that’s a lot brighter and higher color volume.

Re: MLB The Show 25 Early Impressions
The 3:17 minute mark is why I refuse to buy this game! The immersion killing clipping issue where the 1st baseman's arm & glove completely clips through the base runner's arm when attempting to tag him. This issue has been in the game for years! Inexcusable that this is still in the game! I know some will overlook this or say I'm nitpicking, but this type of stuff kills all immersion for me. It sticks out like a sore thumb. The fact that this issue has been ignored for at least 5 years or more speaks volumes to me! I was on the fence, but I definitely won't be purchasing on principal!

Re: MLB The Show 25 Early Impressions
Didn't think this question warrants its own thread, this seems to be the best thread to ask it in. It's a small thing, but how do the menus seem in this game in terms of responsiveness? I noticed the menus were significantly more laggy in MLBTS 24 than they were in 23. Just wondering if they did anything about that in 25 as this is a big pet peeve of mine in games. I want to get this game when it goes on sale, especially after reading about the latest patch fixing bullpen usage logic. If they went back to the menu responsiveness of MLBTS 23 that would put it way over the hump for me.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Early Impressions
Okay, this is pissing me off, how in the hell do I create a custom camera in this game for batting? I had absolutely no problem in 24, but for some reason I cannot figure this out..People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Early Impressions
In a game, so to “Settings” and then scroll down to “Cameras” (just under Audio/Video). There you can change the camera in more detail and create your custom one.Comment

It took the the second video, the slomo back and forth replay to make it noticeable. I don't get into breaking down and studying each play frame-by-frame so thesee type situations don't affect me. Its when I can see the ghost thru each other in real time plays that makes me cringe at bad collision detection.Talk about things nobody cares.

Lol, I watched the first video at 3:17 in real time five times and I couldn't see it, it happened so quick.

Thank you, I also figured out that you can go into BP and set it up there as well, which is the way I ended up doing it.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment
