Re: MLB The Show 25 Little Things

So, I have a player in my franchise on a nice little 17 game hit streak. Naturally I pick his headline at the beginning of the game so I can hear Boog and Sigs talk about it. While they’re talking about it, a nice cutscene appears of the player autographing balls for fans.
Ive never seen that before! Nice immersion. 😀

I don't remember ever seeing this reaction before. The home plate umpire had been squeezing us all game, and on top of that we had been getting our tails kicked by the Dodgers all series and were about to be swept. I guess Tuchman had enough. The only thing that would've made this cut scene better is if the ump tossed him.

          Definitely should have been tossed

So not only am I still seeing animations that I either haven't ever seen or haven't seen in a while, but...

in my Red Sox franchise (still haven't traded Raffy), I just homered in my 8th straight game with him and Sciambi brought up that he tied Ken Griffey, Jr., Don Mattingly, and Dale Long for most consecutive games with a homer.

I have also seen a lot of different animations, this year’s version of the game is so good.
I just hit the shortest home run I have ever hit. Luckily it was at Yankee Stadium with the short RF porch.

Wasn't sure if I should post this in web gems or here, but I decided to post here under "little things" because the play itself wasn't awe-inspiring, it was more the replays that got me excited. The hundreds of hours I put into this game every year, and I think I've seen it all, and then, wham! Out of the blue a totally innocuous looking play comes along and the game makes it look amazing. Little plays like this are what keep me coming back.

Just saw an OF charging a routine ground ball single to attempt to throw out a runner at home, over run the ball as it goes under his glove. In May of year 2 of my franchise. Dont believe ive seen this before. This along with a dropped fly ball by an OF earlier, makes it seem like there's more OF fielding errors than previous versions

Coming out of the all star break in my 1998 classic franchise, heard some commentary from Boog about the player having just appeared in the all star game for the first time and how it was quite the honor. love stuff like that, especially with 100% created rosters.

You can play this game all year long, think you’ve seen everything, and then… five days before early access for the new one, the game hits you with something completely new.

I’m in the batter’s box, bases loaded, feeling like a hero in the making. Pitcher fires a high fastball — like, “trying to hit the moon” high — and the catcher just whiffs it. Not even close. The ball smacks him on the right shoulder, ricochets like a pinball, and somehow bounces over the net behind home plate.

I had to watch the replay just to confirm I didn’t hallucinate it. Absolutely incredible. This game still finds ways to surprise me.
