This has been mentioned before, exactly what mode/modes are you seeing this in? As I have previously mentioned I have played several DD games as well as test games before starting my franchise and have never seen this once.
Also, you said it's "costing you extra bases", this implies it is on you the user, unless I misunderstood this somehow...
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.
“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert
its tied to Analog Stride hitting ONLY. Those who use buttons do not experience it. Auto sliding/base running settings do NOT matter. Its analog stride and its tied to pushing the thumb stick up to swing which the hitter/runner reads as up to slide.
I've spent most of my time setting up my dynasty, so I haven't had a ton of actual gameplay. But so far I have yet to see any sliding into first base, and I use Analog Flick to hit.

Yeah, as far as Auto goes I can agree with that - manual input overrides the auto setting if the user does something (intentionally/knowingly or not) - that's why it essentially doesn't matter. And the idea that it's tied to the analog stride's last motion is certainly plausible.
That said...I still can't recreate it, even with analog stride. The stick is definitely resetting to neutral and not triggering an unwanted slide. I can slide into 1st on purpose but that's not the same thing. I think that's the rub here - SDS has to be able to recreate it in order to fix it.
I know that’s what scares me is that they can’t recreate it. I’m sure they will because it happens all the time in analog flick and I’m going to have to go back to buttons.
And I made a post in that thread back then (2014) saying that I've seen those complaints in years even before that.
That thread devolved into....something different, but it did start with the same issue we're discussing now. And there were other threads over the years regarding unwanted slides into other bases (usually while people were using auto baserunning). I think the old timers here will probably still remember those.
