I'm going to post a massive rant about this pros and cons and I don't care who does or doesn't see it. I'm not trying to be bossy or anything like that but this really does piss me off. I hope all of or at least one of the developers from Sony SD see this too. For one, why the hell did they decide to finally pull it now when the game has been out for more than 5 months? The challenges gave people who don't have time to sit on a console all day and night or all of us that aren't sponsored and receive free packs every weekend a chance to earn stubs to buy your stupid outrageous priced packs in the first place. TPC and DP challenged also let us get good cards to try to either play the market or keep to have on our diamond dynasty team and actually enjoy playing people. Packs are 1,000 stubs for your basic Standard, Position, or Pitcher packs. You are lucky to barely earn that amount after a game. Maybe if you go into extra innings you'll get lucky and get more stubs. Sure, you get about 4-5 cards after a game and those could be good or bad, but that was also the case in the challenges too. Silver cards barely go for more than 200 stubs now in the marketplace. I mean sure, the challenges flooded the market, but maybe if they didn't do packs every single weekend the cards would still have some value to them. The average for a gold card now floats between 5-9,000 stubs and the teams with better legends are more expensive and I agree with that. Its definitely unfair to people just getting into it because now there is no way in hell you would even get close to completing half of the teams. Sony wants all of us to play the game, spread word about the game and there is such a great fan base for it, but every weekend they come out with these packs that are usually either 5,000-12,500-13,000-35,000 or even 50,000. Its basically turning into a free transaction game now. I'm sorry but I'm not going to spend $50 of my own money for virtual video game stub money. Lot of people work hard and jobs are far in few these days. At least with challenges we had a real chance to actually see the full effect of this game. What fun would it be if you had a team of all bronze or common players? You would go online and get your *** beat every single time unless you are a great player which there are a lot of great players online. It was so fun after a challenge to see what cards you would pull. I myself have all the teams completed and all diamond players, but you still get those chills and excitement of pulling a gold or diamond player or item from time to time. Then a weekend comes along with 2-3 limited packs and just crashes the market only for cards to go up x2 the following week. And good luck getting a team done when new players that are added on Monday's are floating around 12-15,000 stubs because its a new card. Its ridiculous. This game needs such an overhaul for online play too its not even funny, but my beef is with the challenges and devs. Where is this "MAJOR" update that has been promised for the last month and a half. Oh yeah there is going to be a surprise around the all star break. What did we get.... stupid all star packs. 12,000-35,000-50,000 stub packs. Good luck getting people to buy weekend promotional packs now that no one will have any stubs to afford them. And I know people will say well you just have to play the market. Good luck with that when you have less than 1,000 stubs. I currently have 105,000 stubs. I did challenges to pull cards to sell and make stubs to try to buy players I wanted on my team and to also buy weekend packs so I could get players to sell down the road like anyone else would. Buy low on weekends, sell cards back high during the week, but now once a pack comes out any player that is in those packs drops like a rock and never recovers ever again unless its a diamond. Take for example trades and rumors packs. Cole Hammels was around 12-13,000 now his price is barely over 5k, yet the packs cost 12,000. You'll never get your money back even if you wait because the golds in the packs never go back up. Corey Kluber is a prime example. He was around 18k at one point. Then the K's for days packs came out like 2 months ago. He is barely over 8,000 now. All I can hope for and say is I hope they bring them back because it did more good. Yeah people also will say you cheat the system, but they set it up like that. I don't think people used it to an advantage. I used it to build my team and get collections done so I could enjoy the game and enjoy playing against people online, but I guess that ship has sailed. Sorry for ranting everyone but I think this is how we all feel.... I am going to have to think long and hard about buying next years game now. I work hard for my money and I'm not gonna spend my own cash to buy virtual cards.
