Hahaha really? Last I checked the show was the only baseball game on the market. So no, there is no choice. Yes, the game is good, borderline great, but the greatest game of all time? Oh boy. I'm not even hating, I've played the game for months, but I'm also not delusional. It's not even the best sports game out right now. The game is good but could use many improvements. Homers and fanboys who refuse to criticize anything will lead to nothing ever improving.

Re: Triple Play Challenge
Mike trout might be around 75 dollars if you choose to buy stubs and go buy him, but in madden there are players who cost millions of coins, and guess what, you can't just buy coins to go get him. DD gives everyone a much, much better chance of getting the players they want. The developers are not money hungry, they are giving us the tools to buy the players we want if we so choose. In madden you have basically a zero percent chance of pulling those top players from a pack, and if you want to spend reallney you could spend thousands of dollars on packs hoping to get that top player, or you could spend a few hundred buying coins from someone against the terms of conditions. We have it much better here.Comment

Re: Triple Play Challenge
you're lost. I just started playing DD as I was getting bored of playing rtts and franchise because I know I can come back to them next year. I went out and started doing the dpc and got a gold Pollack. Only 85 OVR, he wasn't worth a while lot. Around 2000 stubs. Trout is 75K. And without challenges there's really no way for me to earn stubs except playing 30-45 minute games and only getting 200 stubs. MLB isn't giving us the tools to earn stubs, they're giving us the tools to BUT stubs. I'd like to have the time to play the market but I also have to get an education and sleep. I made my team pretty much all silvers with the stubs I got from a few challenges I did before they took them off. I was going to take the Phillies approach, flip Shmidt, buy the Red Sox roster to get Ted Williams and then flip him, Cliff Lee, and Hanley. I have no way do that now unless I buy stubs. I'd rather not spend my money on something that I'm only going to play for a few week with 2k and Madden coming out.Comment

Re: Triple Play Challenge
TPC Financed my last 4 team sets lol I have all the players I want besides 4 diamonds but I bought the stubs for the rest so I don't feel bad at all. This doesn't really affect me at all but I think it was a bad move by Sony to change the rules in the middle of the gameComment

Re: Triple Play Challenge
The best way for you to buy any player in this game is not by the rxploitive triple play challenges, it's by playing the market. No one gets rich in stubs from the challenges or games. Those are tools that the smart market guys use to get enough to start flipping cards on the market. If you learn how to do that well you will soon be able to afford every card in the game. Go try that with madden in a few weeks. It'll take you a much, much longer time to be able to afford the top cards in that game.
"A single person in the community made over 8 billion Stubs on Community Challenges alone. One guy."
I'd call that pretty rich, lol.Comment

Re: Triple Play Challenge
That's a great reason to removed those challenges from the game. 8 billion stubs Is astronomical. It could totally ruin the game.Comment

Re: Triple Play Challenge
I don't believe for one minute that somebody had the will to sit on TPCs long enough to earn 8 billion stubs that's just dev speak ! They would never get to play the gameComment

Re: Triple Play Challenge
That's obviously not a guy who is sitting there playing it over and over. There's no way. He either found a glitch in the game that payed out millions of stubs with zero effort or hacked the game in some way.

I once made 10k stubs doing the DPC while watching a 2 hour movie. I only had about 5 collections at the time.
It makes a lot of sense that they took it away. However, they should have just changed the system; I quite enjoyed entering a quick scenario with little payout for the sake of doing it, such as coming in down by one in the bottom of the 9th with two on and two out.Comment

Re: Triple Play Challenge
I saw a youtube video of someone who created a device that would repeatedly press "X" over and over. He'd enter the double play challenge and set it up all day.

Re: Triple Play Challenge
It might have been a cheesy way to get stubs, tho i never really exploited it (however around my 15th attempt it did reward me with a MIKE TROUT after i had just bought him the day before essentially i got 70K stubs) but i would mostly use it if i needed a quick 1500 or somethin, the mode was so damn boring i'd rather play a game. But for sony to just remove it this late in the season is just ridiculous. Fix it for next year and call this year a wash its been there to long, the market place wasnt getting to ruined soooo. But what makes this even dumber is the "BIG UPDATE" they ANNOUNCED SEVERAL TIMES WOULD HAPPEN. Well they dont give us that, but they take away this?!?!?! Pretty effin lame man, these guys are bein fudged up, why dont they take out the stupid *** bunting, or the constant pausing and that "Checking the defense" where ppl on DD just cheese the crap outta you with, there were far more issue than the tpc and dpc. if someone was making millions because they created the challenge then fix that, the 1500 stub payout for 20 min of BS was hardly messing things up, there are far worse things that MAKE ME LOOSE HARD FOUGHT GAMES i.e HORRIBLE FIELDING ANIMATIONS(catcher wont tag a guy out at home even tho the throw beat him by a mile) unBELIEVABLE ERRORS i mean some of the dumbest dropped balls ever. I have a team pretty much all diamonds and legends, and trout, mcutchen, harper, stanton, bagwell, these guys make STUPID errors, fix that crap, screw the dpc/tpc. And like others say PAYOUT BETTER after hard games, I played 18+ inning games those SHOULD pay better, but nope. whew sorry that was long, just stupid man, stupid stupid stupidComment

Re: Triple Play Challenge
Seriously, I forgot one of the most frustrating ones to mention, when your pitching and the hitter is allowed to wave his bat and stall you from makin your next pitch, the freakin guy is in the batters box!!!! i can pitch whenever i want (as long as his hand is not up while the ump is giving him time) than its free game! plus the number of times the can step out of the batter box and step off the mound, sure guys call time out in baseball, but the dont do it over and over like some of these kids. Last night someone crashed the game on me by doin this, and somehow i got the loss?Comment

Re: Triple Play Challenge
If they would just give more than a few hundred stubs for winning games in DD this never would have become a problem at all. Literally winning in that mode means close to nothing. I have pulled some great cards after the games but that can be done in any game mode. This was purely a money move by SCEA because I bet less people were "buying" those 1000 stubs for .99c when they could get 1500-2000 from community challenges.Comment
