Re: Conquest Question and Answer Thread
It's high until you start branching out or try and make a B line towards a team and then attack mode happens and a team wipes you out without you being able to defend yourself and then you get disconnected“Baseball is a game, yes. It is also a business. But what is most truly is is disguised combat. For all its gentility, its almost leisurely pace, baseball is violence under wraps.” -Willie Mays (The Say Hey Kid)Comment

Do you guys know how the innings for getting conquest players works. I've heard some different answers from people so just wanted to see if anyone had a definitive answer. If it's been answered in the thread could you just point me in the direction of the post. Thanks!Teams I Support

1. You need to capture a teams stronghold. You can see each teams stronghold by looking for the teams logo. That is what you need to attack. If you're deep in the mode other teams will take over other teams strongholds but don't be discouraged. They thought it out well and if a team has multiples and you beat say the Astros but it was where Texas' stronghold was, you'll have unlocked the Texas stronghold instead of doubling up on Houston.
2. Once you've acquired a teams stronghold you then need to back out of Conquest mode and go to the collect tab and go to Missions. Once in missions go to the Conquer and Command section by clicking L1 or R1 a few times. Once here, go to the team who you've conquered and redeem your prize. This will give you XP and Stubs. After doing this you'll see there's are new rewards to be had and it will tell you what you need to do. So for example, let's take the Cardinals. I conquered their stronghold and collected my XP and Stubs and was then prompted with what I need to do next to get their first tier reward player. I need to play 600 innings with Cardinals players (again, don't be discouraged as that seems like a daunting task even though 600 innings is the least I've seen thus far. They've made it to where every half inning counts as one full inning so it goes very quick.) Once I do that, I'll unlock 10,000 XP, 500 Stubs and a FB Allen Craig. The third and final step is next.
3. After getting done with the first tier player, from my understanding you will then be asked to feed your DD created player with that teams players and once you've filled the bar up completely, you will have unlocked the teams third and final tier. I can't guarantee this step to be 100% accurate as I am yet to complete a teams second tier. I've just been trying to acquire as many strongholds as possible and will then worry about getting the innings done after I've gotten all of them and can work on each team individually without worrying about not being able to get a team and having to start over.
Hope this helps man. It took me a while to kind of figure it out but I think I'm on the right path. I've taken over 6 strongholds and have 50 territories and 64m fans. This has all happened since last night at 2am so I'm making pretty good progress so far.Comment

Re: Conquest Question and Answer Thread
I lost a bunch of games at the Chicago Cubs' stronghold last night on All-Star difficulty. I hadn't had much trouble playing the CPU on All-Star until I got to the Cubs. The top/middle part of their lineup kept lighting up my bronze-tier pitchers. I still haven't had much trouble generating offense, even on Hall of Fame difficulty. I can crush fastball pitchers on any difficulty. And if I have to face a pitcher who has no fastballs and tons of breaking balls, I just start playing small ball and try to bunt/steal/sac fly to score runs.
What eventually led to me beating the Cubs was picking up a bunch of silver tier pitchers to replace my bronze scrubs. Will Smith and AJ Ramos are a nice lefty/righty bullpen combo for their cheap price. Pitching and defense are the toughest parts for me against the computer, as you really just have to have to high rated players on your team in those categories. There aren't many shortcuts on that side of the ball like there are on offense.

Re: Conquest Question and Answer Thread
I'm playing primarily Conquest mode and trying to gain the XP rank needed to finish a captain mission.
I have enough tickets but man trying to get to the level Rank 30 is a serious serious grind. Any helpful tips in that area?Comment

Re: Conquest Question and Answer Thread
Has anyone been able to actually defend their territory against the CPU? It always sims mine, seems silly that they can just sim it like that.
I want to be able to defend and I'd like to be the home team!

You can only play as the defender and at home when they try to take your stronghold.Comment
