His fielding has improved remarkably since last year so this isnt the case anymore, also theres a lot more to hitting than batting average. He probably should be a low silver by now.

He is fielding .980 which is 10th among all mlb short stops, and he is on pace for 30+ hrs. He should be higher than bronze.

Well I was more referring to his fielding in game, as that is what hugely affects a SS overall rating and I don't think they regularly give players fielding upgrades, they pretty much stick to just hitting upgrades? (I think Seager got a fielding upgrade to force him into gold after his 3 HR game, but it's unusual)

The only attributes they usually change are contact v L/R, power v L/R, plate vision and discipline. The only ones of those attributes likely to improve for Semien is his power, which hugely impacts his ability to go up much. His batting average, walks and strikeouts look to be about as his career average, so his contact, vision and discipline are unlikely to go up.

If they did boost his fielding then it would give him a chance of a good upgrade, but they don't change that very often from what I've seen.

Over the weekend I loaded up on Ramos, sitting at 56 at the moment, in hopes his price would jump leading up to Thursday.

Good idea, Ramos has been on a tear lately.

Don't you think that's what drives prices down? It's what happened to me with Cano, Longo, Miller and Bogaerts just to name a few. Bogaerts was going for 25,000 when the update first happened and I already had one of him but I figured he would only go up from here so I didn't sell. He's currently going for only 14,250. I bought Cano for 17,501 and he's currently going for 12,260. I bought Andrew Miller for 13501 and he's currently going for 10,300. I bought Longo for 7530 and he started to plummet right away and is now going for 1650. Hell, this pack they just put out has caused a lot of prices to go down and now that a lot of day traders have been banned, it looks like I will never even be able to break even.

This is my first year really playing DD and the market but I don't think buying a lot of one card makes sense anymore but hopefully it works out for you.

Agreed. If you have 5 people all desperately trying to sell 50 of the same card each then they're going to drive the price down by constantly undercutting each other and still take an age to sell the cards. Risky and a lot of effort compared to quick flips

I'm buying the Ramos in hopes of gold, at 150 per card, if he goes gold mine will never see the market, I'll quicksell them almost for 1k each.

And thats where you go wrong lol. If you're already going to make profit at 25,000 sell him there. He was at 25,000 cause that was his initial price after going diamond. Obvious it was going to go down after that because everyone was trying to sell their Bogaerts after he went diamond. Longo's price plummeted because he was one of the cards that came out a lot from the packs last week.

For this reason is why I usually sell all my Diamonds on Thursday night, then try and rebuy back saturday/sunday

I'm looking at Posey live series or 89 FB card. I can't keep having my guy at catcher with passed balls and people getting easy bases. Who is the best option at C bar Johnny Bench and Joe Mauer.

DD players at catcher is the way to go for sure.

They're definitely better than any catcher you could normally have as opposed to any other position, but I really love playing my DD guy at SS, his defense there is so good

yeah, SS would probably be the only other position i'd consider. I had my guy in CF last year and it was a hell of a lot of fun to gun people on a daily basis. this year I just got tired of having to choose from decent bats with terrible defense or terrible bats with great defense at the C position.

that, and I kept playing against other people with their switch hitting superman DD player at catcher so I made my own.

I bought 40 Ramos cards when they were in those All-Star Weekend packs and were going for 50 to 70 stubs a piece.
