I opened a bunch from the conquest map and bought a couple random ones in between games and didn't pull anything of note. I think a couple cheap golds

Can someone help me w/ the Affinity cards?

I have WSox players since the beginning so that is the closest one I have to get the Yoan Moncada card at 50xp.

I'm at 38 xp and have done all the WSox Moments and started WSox MTO.

Other than this, what can i do? I see there are exchanges but i have no idea how that works.

1.Exchanges - I did the collections for some teams already. Can I still use those cards to get the exchanges?

2.If I do exchange, does that mean I can't use that card anymore in DD for playing?

Unfortunately changed it this year. If you collect a card you cannot exchange or quicksell it.

So if you locked cards in for your collections, then they will not be able to be exchanged unless you have multiple of that card. You can buy multiple off the market and exchange those but not with the cards you own that are collected.

If you exchange cards they are no longer usable. Think of it as trading those cards in for the exchange value.

In terms of getting the affinity points, you can do March to October multiple times and get points that way. In the missions tab you will also see various things like play x innings with players from the team which includes offline and online. As you do those you will earn points.

MTO is the big one - you get affinity based on your performance at up to 5 times throughout the season - end of the first half, end of season, and each round of the playoffs (if you win). You get that affinity immediately when you pass those gates, so if you have a good regular season you might get the remaining affinity you need just from that depending on what difficulty you're playing on.

Not sure about using whether using collected cards for exchanges works. But exchanging does mean you lose the card.

thank you for the help. so this is a grind i guess. can't believe how many other people i see have like almost all of them.

So say I want to go after Joey Gallo Affinity card. I have to then stack my team w/ Rangers and play with them in offline modes ( I don't play online)? And do all the moments and MTO w/ the Rangers?

Btw - i really am enjoying mto. after the last path 1.05 made hitting for offline DD terrible it seems like offline MTO isn't as badly affected or not at all.

Since they increased the affinity payouts a few days ago All-Star difficulty MTO can now get you an affinity player just from playing through the mode once and winning the WS. HOF and Legend pay out even more than that. If you enjoy the mode, stick with it and you'll probably find it a more enjoyable way to get the cards you want.

That's one way. Stack your team with Rangers and play vs cpu or do a bunch of conquest games. Along the way you'll probably hit some of the milestone missions too.

The innings mission is repeatable. I might be off on the numbers because I'm not in the game but 250 innings gets you 5 points (or 10 can't remember) so with a pitcher from the same team that's 81 total innings for 1 full game. So about 3 games will get you the 250 and you can repeat.

The people who have multiple Team Affinity cards are really good at the game and find Showdown easy.

Others simply buy their way to it. The spend a ton of money/stubs and do the exchanges.

For the rest if us, there is a grind.

Played a kid today that had all TA cards, he wasnt good. People can also just buy stubs and do the exchanges over and over.

Got to the end of my MTO Season and got the Moncada Affinity card plus some affinity pack but it had no diamonds or golds.

I guess I'll do that combo of Team Moments + MTO to get the other ones. Only problem for me now is there is no new content available. i"m sure all those points i got for the WSox was when I was doing all the Conquest maps which now I've conquered.

Veteran gets you there as well.

If you hammer the CPU and make a few trades you will get 10 or 11 at the break, then at end of season.. Then 5, 10, and 15. If you end up with 8 or 9 on the first two or so, do the moment for 3 points and boom. No stress, just mash and get the card you want.

I'm on MTO Vet right now finishing up. I only made one trade. If I made more I get more points?

Also, it says Vet is 42 points. Do you only get those 42 if you win the WS? And is 42 the max for Vet?

Next MTO I'll start on All Star.

I'm going to assume you've seen the breakdown screen under team affinity since you know what the Vet max is - that'll make explaining this a bit easier. By the time you reach the playoffs, you will already have earned a portion of that max affinity - as little as 4 points and as many as 11 twice depending on how your season's gone. Once you reach the playoffs, you only get the remaining affinity if you win each round - 5 for the DS, 10 for the CS, and 15 for the WS. For both season and playoff affinity, you get the points you've earned the moment you progress past each "gate" - you don't have to wait until MTO is complete to get those points. But you do need to at least connect to the internet to collect those points (and they're stored up if you've been playing the whole thing offline)

IDK if trading actually gets you more points directly, but a good trade can lead your team to getting more W's, which does increase the points you get up to each "gate" limit (again, 11 for Vet).

ended up losing in the alcs. i am at 55 , 5 short of the 4000 stubs. i guess i can get the 5 doing half a season on rookie or vet again but i dont want to go thru it again.

i can do the 250 inn w/ white sox player to get the final 5. one question - can i do the extended play VS CPU for that mission? or it has to be conquest or online?

You can do either. It takes less innings online it takes 250 for play vs cpu
