Yet, when the conversation shifts to pitching being unsatisfying and bad everyone will point out how pitchers with "low" control can't expect to hit spots.

So Joey Gallo, the hitting equivalent of a big stuff, low control pitcher is an icon but the pitchers just toss BP or throw balls through the backstop.
I swear vision is almost a bad thing, it just means more weak contact, the part of the PCI you want to hit the ball with is the same size for everyone it seems. Hence why pitchers are pretty useful hitters and Gallo is a god

I am still concerned about Program Stars for offline players who are less talented at the game.

If you can't beat showdown and don't have or want to spend the stubs for collections then you have 70 points that you can earn (30 for conquest and 40 for player programs). But even those player programs are all or nothing an require that you be able to beat the game on all-star.

I will probably make it this inning because of play time. In addition to inning content I have done all of the starter stuff and plan on finishing the US map Conquest (35-40 stars) and a full MTO run (unsure maybe 10-20 more) so I will earn quite a few points simply by playing a lot. Plus, I assume we will get a couple more player programs

That will not be the case every inning. I have no desire to run the full US map and one full MTO run every single inning program. So, if this is their roadmap for every inning's content then it could be a short year for me.

I have mixed feelings about Gallo. I've never really been able to hit with him until this year. I got him early and for the first week or so was crushing CPU pitching. He's still spotty against human opponents for me and I'm kind of looking forward to him getting pushed out of the lineup.

I use directional hitting and I think that's a big difference maker. His vision hurts you a lot more unless you get the right pitch. PCI is cheese regardless but for players who guess your location right or have the reflexes to move it with the ball, he's a cheat.

I'm at about 220 stars and have been 100% offline.

I got to a pack the game offered : Duke Snider, Oswalt, Todd Helton. I took Helton because I needed a 1B.

But he's selling for like 30K!!! I mean it's tempting to sell. I don't play online so i don't really need him. But I do need to keep him to do the collections right?

If you're tempted to sell, I would hang onto and use him until later in the year. His price will spike later in the year as we get further away from the 1st inning and more people lock him into collections.

You kind have to decide if you're going to go for collections (and even then you just need to pick one or two) or play the market at the beginning of the year. I don't think you can really do both without going a little crazy.
