Re: Year-end Synopsis and Where DD needs to improve
I would love an actual DD season mode for stat grinding against the CPU, that keeps track of not only your players stats, but the CPUs as well. It stinks not knowing what CPU player is hitting against me or pitching against me. I tried to keep track of it in a copybook, but it became to tedious.
If you can't do a DD season with stat tracking, at least have it in conquest mode.

Agreed. That was something I would have included had I thought to mention. I think it's a no-brainer and I'm pretty sure 2K just implemented something like this. I would even like to see further separation between stats. Not just online vs offline, but between Events, RS and BR etc
Still show the cumulative online/offline stats but give us a further breakdown if we wanna see it.Read my OS articles: https://www.operationsports.com/author/corydell/Comment

I would also like to see them improve the exchange system. I had dupes of Manny Machado. Decided to use him in an exchange, but he's worth 100000, with the exchange price maxing out at 50000. It makes no sense. Also, the total exchange value for players end in numbers other than zero. 1922, 1541, etc etc. Just end it in zero. 100 to 50000.

Re: Year-end Synopsis and Where DD needs to improve
Also, with what I mentioned with the stats. If you have multiple cards of one guy, give me the option on the stat screen to see all the stats at once or individually. For example, I'm a Phillies fan and Indians fan.
To start off my DD back at launch, I had the 91 Diamond Jimmy Rollins, and the 78 or so silver of Franmil Reyes. Over time thru Topps Now, I picked up the 96 Reyes, and thru the market I picked up the 99 Prime Jimmy Rollins. The first two cards got a lot of work in, but the newer cards stats start at 0. I don't know if that's a limitation with the PS4 or what, but it hopefully next year, or the next gen version has more of a statistical immersion and can combine the statistical information of one player.
I would also like to see a legit create a stadium feature. I think it's save to say that the majority of the players of this game are in the age range of 30s to 40s, meaning that we grew up during the Cookie Cutter era of stadiums. Give us the Vet, Busch, 3 Rivers, The Astrodome, Olympic Stadium, the Kingdome, and RiverFront...or if not, allow create a stadium to have options to replicate those stadiums as close as possible with Astro turf and symmetrical dimensions with the outfield.
I just have a feeling, that if they put CAS in the game, it's going to be the old-school traditional approach of the early era of baseball. Which they already have with Connie Mack, Crosely, etc etc.

Re: Year-end Synopsis and Where DD needs to improve
The stats carrying over for specific player cards is interesting. Does Madden do this? Like from what I've seen you can power up cards over the course of the year or something and basically once you have a card you can upgrade it to the best version as it's released? Or something like that.
You'd almost have to have something like that in order for stats to track across card iterations. Or I guess just implement a toggle for stats.
Like the card you're looking at just taps into that player's stats you've accumulated overall and just toggle across the stats.
Would be interesting. I would like that to an extent but I also think it's cool seeing your splits with different versions of the same player. Because it feels far too often "better" versions play worse or maybe that's just anecdotal and recency bias.Read my OS articles: https://www.operationsports.com/author/corydell/Comment

Re: Year-end Synopsis and Where DD needs to improve
With the news that MLB is recognizing the Negro Leagues as a major league, I really hope SDS is planning to license some Negro Leagues legends next year or do versions of Robinson, Doby, etc. from their Negro Leagues days.Comment

Re: Year-end Synopsis and Where DD needs to improve
I've always wanted Josh Gibson and Satchel Paige. But they could revive "Storylines" and really put the spotlight on these guys and let them shine. Just let us play games with full rosters or something with no major requirements to "beat" it and just celebrate their legacy.
Of course I don't know how different licensing would be. I feel like I remember Paige in MVP back in the day? But things are so different now.Read my OS articles: https://www.operationsports.com/author/corydell/Comment

Re: Year-end Synopsis and Where DD needs to improve
This isn't really an improvement just for DD, but the game as a whole. FIX THE CUTOFF LOGIC!
Lost 3 straight games due to poor placement of my cutoff guy. All three plays were Andrew Jones AC throwing to Jimmy Rollins SS at short. Both have excellent defensive ratings.
All the shots to the gap. Runners going from second to home. Getva great jump on the ball, great throw from Jones, expecting Jimmy to be at the top of the diamond, but nope. He's inside the diamond, next to the pitchers mound.
Andrew Jones is one of the greatest fielding CFs of all time. Jimmy Rollins was one of the best fielding SS of his era. There's no way he would be that deep in the diamond, and there's no way Jones throws the ball to someone that deep in the diamond.
