Re: The Extremely Early Wish List Thread
I have something I would like to add...
First this is a must fix, I love this game but this issue makes it almost unplayable for me.
In "The Show" the gray concrete level continues gray through the Batters eye and not covered black like in real life.
This is fine on games played during the day but in games played at night the concrete is a lot whiter and in "Wide" batting view the ball comes out of the pitchers hand right at the point of the concrete ring.Making picking up the ball high in the zone near impossible.
Please fix this! having a white ball coming out of a near white background has completely ruined the Rogers Center at least for me.
This has been in "The Show" for years I cant believe no one else has had issues with this.Comment

Re: The Extremely Early Wish List Thread
I had to show exactly what I meant so here..
Its not a night game so the concrete is gray, which is playable but when its a night game the concrete is near white.
Edit: I hope this isn't buried and never to be found/resolved if someone could pm me as to whether this is fixed for 09 I would really appreciate it.Last edited by Darkleaf; 10-11-2008, 11:53 AM.Comment

Re: The Extremely Early Wish List Thread
There was a problem like this in PNC the previous year where in a night game there was a white piece of concrete that made playing there very annoying when trying to hit. They did fix this in this years version. I actually switched teams (the Pirates) because it was so bad.Comment

Re: The Extremely Early Wish List Thread
I play road to the show a lot and some things bug me.
I'm on the red sox in 2013 and when playing i see david ortiz playing first and youk as the DH.
And once papi was even playing 2nd!
The managerial decisions in rtts are absolutely terrible, at least in the psp version.
Okay on to my wishes...
I would like to be able to edit your player after creating him in rtts ( like equipment and batting stance)
I would personally like to be able to have the option to skip parts during the game ( for example i hate running the base paths, give me the option to skip it)
Deeper franchise, make september more like itself, and make spring training worthwhile.MLB: St. Louis Cardinals
NBA: New York Knicks
NFL: Houston Texans, St. Louis Rams
NCAA: Georgia Tech Yellow JacketsComment

I think they should add birthdays instead of having everyone have their birthday in the off season.Comment

Re: The Extremely Early Wish List Thread
I don't know if this has been mentioned and I really don't feel like reading through 46 pages of posts.
But why are the rookies in the draft so darn good? It is just unrealistic for a draft pick to be that good that they can go straight from the draft to the majors and win the MVP or Cy Young.
Also would it be really hard to move the draft to June like it is in real baseball? Also why aren't there enough players for a full draft? I know the more seasons I played the less players there was for the draft and most times I wouldn't get more than 2 players in the draft before it ran out of players. Please add more draft picks.Atlanta Braves

Also it's not that I really hate running the baseballs but the camera angles SUCK! I don't know how many times I have been doubled off base because I had no idea where the ball was because I couldn't see it because of the camera angle.Atlanta Braves

Re: The Extremely Early Wish List Thread
DEFINATELY have the real minor leaguers with fake names like on 2k8. It'd be much easier for roster editors and wouldn't be a hassle with the creating all the players. It's a GREAT feature on 2K8. One of the things I like on 2k8.Comment

Re: The Extremely Early Wish List Thread
More things for 09':
Catcher tosses mask...
Pitcher flicks glove to shake call...
Flags flow in same direction as wind...
Option to adjust all created and edited players lifetime stats...
My 2 to 3 thousand hours, (4 months) with an average of 18 hrs. a day, 6 or 7 days a week involvement using "FACE TOOL" to create all the baseball greats from bygone days...(Labor of love) I hope the "Face Tool" is included in MLB 09'...
My dream would be to have an option to include last years adjusted rosters into the next years 09' game...
It would take one split second to push 1 button, instead of 3 thousand hours...
Could this be possible?
Please "For the love of simulation" give us a slider to tone down or eliminate the existing neon lights that circle the player fielding the ball...I feel it's a bit overkill...
To have the camera follow the HOME-RUN ball in real time is exciting!
If this was the only up-grade offered I would gladly lay down my 60 bucks!
A great example is the 2K3 dingers...
Faces are great this year, I love the Face Tool!
Only thing I would add is a face tone and hair tone slider...
All in all this game is the best ever and getting better each year, keep up the great work! Thanks...
Oh, one more thing please offer stirrup socks in sock selection options...

Re: The Extremely Early Wish List Thread
Some of this stuff has probably been added but I would like to see the following:
1) Weather (how about some cloud cover, cold temps, etc.)
2) Upgrade the presentation (although this is the best in video games)
--Show a digital tape measure or flight path of a home run during replays
--Real team PA announcers
--Maybe add radio announcers as an alternative so you can choose either the three-man booth or the radio announcer (I like Ernie Harwell or Vin Scully)
3) Roster updates throughout the season
4) Downloadable content like classic stadiums, updated uniforms
5) Choice of uniform during season / franchise and the ability to choose the CPU jersey
6) More classic uniforms (from each era 60s, 70s, 80s -- Still waiting for the Mets blues from 1986)
7) More create-a-player options (read about pants style, shirt style, eye black, and other accessories)
8) Pitchers wear jackets on base paths
9) Choice of sending pitching coach or manager to mound
10) More control over throws (waiting for my infielder to release the ball after a pre-determined animation makes plays closer than they should be)
11) Actual brand batting gloves (not necessary but a cool touch)
12) Pitchers who get upset when they get pulled
13) In-game highlights and scores from around the league
I will say that this is the best baseball game ever made. Not perfect but it is damn sweet and I am still plugging away seven months later. I am an old school gamer who has fallen into the "spoiled" category with detailed uniforms, stadiums, etc. and have become somewhat overly critical of what the developers put out.
The Show is a game that SCEA has made huge strides with and I have learned to appreciate what this game does for baseball. It is fun and it is beautiful. Let's hope that SCEA builds on The Show 08 and adds more awesome features to next year's game. I cannot wait....What?Comment
