Re: New Screenshots!
Who cares? Seriously? That's like people complaining about the quality of the face's of the players in a NFL game when you can't even see thier faces...who gives a rip. I'm not suggesting all would be cool if the graphics were RBI basball quality but come on...Look ma!!! no I black!!! How did we ever survive?
And I care.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: MLB 09 The Show Screenshots (Playstation.com)
I noticed the glasses and eye black in 2k8 when I played that game, mostly while the person was batting, but sometimes in the field. I really hope they give us an option, like in 2k, for the player to be able to just wear the sun glasses in the field or just while batting.Comment

Re: New Screenshots!
for those of you that play on top of the line or near top of the line pcs with the money for top end graphics cards cant judge the graphics in this to any of that. we are still on our consoles still MANY generations behind what the best graphics cards on pcs can or will produce... i understand this, i see it and understand... it isnt that hard to understand... until we get to where our game consoles , no scratch that no matter how far our consoles go someone will always say that it still loooks old shcool or not real enough... well unless yoru going to pay $3000 for a game console made by Alienware you will have to deal with the less than perfect graphics when it comes to certain aspects in yoru games... as in bushes etc..."Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Re: MLB 09 The Show Screenshots (Playstation.com)
I think these screens look fantastic.
There is NOTHING in them showing any steps backwards. The textures are as crisp as they were in '08. And it appears the color pops a bit more, which to me, is an improvement.
Also, you can clearly tell the lighting and shadowing have improved. Especially the HDR lighting off the players and field from the time of day progression.
It is going to be sick graphically. 700 added animations with 400 more presentation screens. The HDR lighting more prominent due to the 'time of day' progression, and it is a winner in my book.
Personally you will NOT see a huge improvement until the new player models. But for the fact it didn't take 10 steps backwards graphically like 2K8 did from 2K7, but rather some nice steps forward is a HUGE plus for my baseball gaming.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Deja Vu part 2001 in a series of a million. Each year screen shots released same statements. And for those who say PS3 can't push textures is just silly.Comment

nobody is bashing the game, only providing their opinions on what they see.
I agree with just about all the "negative" posts in here thus far. But as I said, last year, the screenshots didn't do the game justice and I suspect that will be the same this year. I'll reserve my judgments on the game and how it looks when I either:
A) see video of it in motion from a third party(someone other than Sony)
B) when I play and see the game for myself, on my television.
I don't know why people are getting bent out of shape because someone isn't singing the praises of the graphics. And one more thing, I like the fact that people are having to be nitpicky to find fault. Shows how great the game is already.Comment
