That reminds me of the late great Skip Caray who always would say a chopper to Chipper.

I have never understood why you never see a left handed throwing catcher. I understand the other positions with turning double plays and such. But never catcher.
I would guess: Anyone who can throw hard/accurate as a lefty will be quickly converted to a P. Lot more valuable than being a C.

I never really thought about it before but one thing is that most batters are right handed and the left handed catcher would be at a disadvantage because he would have the hitter in his line of fire to second.

I am curious to know a little more about the "team chemistry" aspect of franchise mode. I read somewhere they alluded to the fact that chemistry will play a bigger part in building your team? How is that going to be implemented?

I am a bit more curious about this after having seen some info about 2K9 and their player desires. I am assuming since 2K9 is being developed by Visual Concepts it will be similar to NBA 2K9.

Just re-posting to make sure you guys have it as you know how I love ratings. Have fun on your trip!

            Pitcher Ratings

I heard from Kolbe that pitch speed is now judged by MPH. How is this implemented? Is there a top and bottom speed? Is there a limit for how many MPH can fit in that range like last year?

That's a good point but it seems to me over the last 10 years or so you are getting more and more kids coming up that throw right handed but bat left handed.

That may just be me though but does anyone else think there are more left handed hitters than there was say 10 years ago?

Are the "Sounds of the Game" like the walkup music, bullpen entry music, homerun music and cheers just going to be for home games?
Since that's when you only hear them.

And are the jeers going to be for away games and possibly home also?

Curious if the AI green light on 3-0 has been toned down. I understand there are certain situations that call for it, but you see it a lot for instance with the #2 hole hitter leading off an inning. This should not happen, thanks guys

since it is impossible to play split squad games in st they seem to "picK" one of those games on that day to play. how do they decide which of the split squad games get played and whic dont?

The thing with a lefty catcher is that when he throws to third, he'll have to throw around a righty batter. A righty catcher can step forward and not have to worry about that.

Gameplay - On balls hit up the middle on the ground, have they fixed the control of the player? They used to automatically give you the CF and like an idiot, you try to dive with the second basemen only to see your CF fall over and possibly miss the ball. I still fall for that occasionally.
