I just saw this yesterday in '08. It's rare but you can blast the catcher. Inge got smoked but still held on. The runner jumped back to tag home plate after the collision but was out anyways.

I woud like to know what kind of influence "batting stance guy" has had on signature batting and or pitching styles...there were a lot of stances that were off in 08. Are there more spot-on stances and swings in 09? example: Ryan Braun and Rickie Weeks looked terrible in 08...also, Derek Jeter didn't look the best either. Thanks for your time guys!

Hey MK, I hadn't had a chance to read much into this question thread. You still seem to misunderstand what I was getting at in my "jump the gun" topic. What I meant was that the first dev team to incorporate actual full-on signature swings for batters, will have truly achieved greatness. It's something that's never been accomplished, which is why I say that.
I mean wouldn't it be cool to see player specific swings like Ichiros leaning/running swing, Utley's axe chop, Griffey's sweet stroke, etc..?

Nope, not this time around. They mostly got the New York & west coast crowd attending. More convenient that way I suppose. I'm the furthest away (actually 2nd furthest), all the way on the other side of the country. Live part time in Miami & part time Tennessee (beaches & mountains).
This event was kind of a late spur of the moment decision that was costing one of the MLB producers. Ramone did say they might hold a couple preview events in late 09, so maybe then.

No need to worry, a few of the guys chosen should be on the lookout for animation inaccuracies.... just don't expect it to be Jim. He knows nothing about batting stances & MK doesn't care about them.:wink:
Those two have other more specific assignments, like gameplay glitches, sliders & attribute scouting. Plus they've compiled a mile long list of other stuff from the entire OS community.

Things should be good when all is said & done & they'll have a ton of explaining to do, so no time for fatigue. But man, all those hours traveling, then playing, traveling again, followed by hours answering to OS'ers..... Gonna be alot work, but I'm sure they're up for it.

I agree. I don't know where they got that stance at they put for Mark Teixeira but that looks nothing like his stance that I have seen.

I don't know if maybe that was a stance he used in college or the minors but when I saw him play for the Braves it was not anywhere near what they had on the game.

This game is close to prefect but one big thing i'd like to see is total roster control in a season and in franchise mode. So your able to control every team's roster so when theres an injury you can fix it or dip into there minor leagus to make the right callup and when they do that make sure the lineups stay right. I know in the pasdt you could have roster control but had to turn off injuries and if you had injuries you could control like 4 teams. Just wondering if this will bw available and if not why and will it be in the future.

I did'nt look through the whole thread because of time, but i was wondering if its an automatic out everytime the pitcher covers firstbase. I never seen the pitchers make errors in this situation in 08'. Thanks.

Well you got your wish as you could always control all rosters ? Now you can also play all games , all teams !
But still only choose 2 teams
