    Hitters

    Clint Barmes, IF
Song: "Back From Where I Come From" by Kenny Chesney
Barmes: "Country music's my favorite, and that was the one they gave me in '05 when I started the season. I like the song, and it kind of grew on me that year. I had some success early, so I never changed it."
Critic commentary: "This is. The slowest. Kenny Chesney. Song. Ever. Clint! For the love of all that is holy! Why you wants to be putting the crowd to sleepytime? The air is thin enough up there! Switch it up: 'Living in Fast Forward,' maybe, or 'Never Wanted Nothing More.' That way you keep your Kenny, but don't lose your audience." --Whitney Pastorek, Senior Writer, Entertainment Weekly

    Garrett Atkins, 1B
Song: "The Way I Are" by Timbaland
Atkins: "Spilly (Ryan Spilborghs) introduced me to it, and people seemed to like it, so I stuck with it. I liked the beat and the intro, and kind of went with it. I'm not real good at picking out songs to come up to bat with, so I let the other guys help me out."
Critic commentary: "What's funny about this is that Timbaland might have, in fact, used Garrett's would-be namesake diet to help slim down and bulk up in recent months."--Kenny Herzog, music/pop culture critic

    Brad Hawpe, RF
    Song: "Rockstar" by Nickelback
Hawpe: "I picked it a while back -- a year or two ago. It was just a song I heard at the time. There's nothing too big to that. I've been meaning to change it, but I haven't had time to think of anything else."
Critic commentary: "As perhaps the only working member of the current music press who will admit to a fascination with and begrudging fondness for Nickelback (50 million derivative rock fans can't be wrong?), I applaud Brad for putting this out there. But again, 'Rockstar' is hardly the band's most energetic track; 'Animals,' for example, is way more pumped up." --Whitney Pastorek, Senior Writer, Entertainment Weekly

    Ian Stewart, 3B
    Song: "Figure.09" by Linkin Park
Stewart: "I didn't pick the song. It was just the one they gave me when I came up here, but I kind of like the way it starts."
Critic commentary: "I suppose the kids these days aren't too keen about that 'Love Potion' of the same numerical appointment." --Kenny Herzog, music/pop culture critic

    Troy Tulowitzki, SS
Song: "Gimme More" by Britney Spears
Tulowitzki: "We always played it in the locker room and stuff, and everybody liked it, so I decided to make it my song. It was 'I'm A Flirt' by R. Kelly, but I changed it earlier (this season) because I was (slumping). Now I've got a couple hits with this one, so I'm just sticking with it. I don't really like Britney Spears except for this song."
Critic commentary: "Really, Troy? Really. I mean: seriously?"--Whitney Pastorek, Senior Writer, Entertainment Weekly

    Jeff Baker, 2B
Song: "GZ and Hustlas" by Snoop Dogg
Baker: "I like the bass line in it. I just like old-school rap -- Snoop and Dre and all those guys, man. I enjoy listening to that."
Critic commentary: "Despite the fact that Baker bears closer resemblance to New York sports reporter Chris Cotter than one of Snoop's posse, it's a motivating enough piece of music to come up and bash to." --Kenny Herzog, music/pop culture critic

Re: Custom Sounds and Misc Clips

Sky, I added some Yankee sounds to my 4shared. Since you seem to have the mega-database going on, can you add them to yours?

          HERE.

I mainly added some Bleacher Creature chants for us to add as player cheers, so we'll hear them throughout the game, for example:

          <embed src="http://dc95.4shared.com/flash/flvplayer.swf" width="470" height="20" allowscriptaccess="always" flashvars="file=http://dc95.4shared.com/img/85117502/5309d70c/dlink__2Fdownload_2F85117502_2F5309d70c_2FBleacher CreaturesChant.mp3_3Ftsid_3D20090208-162305-7ad6aa05/preview.mp3&link=http://www.4shared.com/file/85117502/5309d70c/BleacherCreaturesChant.html"></embed>

          <embed src="http://dc95.4shared.com/flash/flvplayer.swf" width="470" height="20" allowscriptaccess="always" flashvars="file=http://dc95.4shared.com/img/85117482/9a123733/dlink__2Fdownload_2F85117482_2F9a123733_2FBleacher Creatures4.mp3_3Ftsid_3D20090208-162738-b13ef720/preview.mp3&link=http://www.4shared.com/file/85117482/9a123733/BleacherCreatures4.html"></embed>

And about 5 or 6 more.

*the volume on these are low on purpose, so they blend in with the fans and sound like they are coming from the distant bleachers.

I also added Yankee HR's songs. I'm sure you're working on some of your own, but the more the better! I uploaded some recent ones, but I'll mostly be using the ones with the sirens, which I really miss. They were used in the late 90's:

          <embed src="http://dc95.4shared.com/flash/flvplayer.swf" width="470" height="20" allowscriptaccess="always" flashvars="file=http://dc95.4shared.com/img/85117302/5784abbe/dlink__2Fdownload_2F85117302_2F5784abbe_2FYS_5FHR_ 5F1990s_5F1.mp3_3Ftsid_3D20090208-163148-ac54f049/preview.mp3&link=http://www.4shared.com/file/85117302/5784abbe/YS_HR_1990s_1.html"></embed>

There are more on the site. I also added this for my Mets fan friends. since they all love this so much  :

              Batters:

              Chone Figgins, 3B
              Song: "Speedin'" by Rick Ross
Figgins: "I just liked the song. It's more of just a motivation thing to relax. You hear the music and you go up and relax instead of being tense. If you don't have music, you start concentrating on where to put your hands, like 'How do I do this?' With the music you just get up there and relax. I hear it. When you're on the road you don't hear anything, so when you get home, at least for 81 days, you get to hear your own music."
Critic commentary: "One hundred fifty-five stolen bases in three seasons undoubtedly gives you the right to do a little bragging; 'Figgy' is indeed speedin'." --Saul Austerlitz, freelance critic for Boston Globe and other publications

              Gary Matthews Jr. OF/DH
Song: "Show Me What You Got" by Jay-Z
Matthews: "It's just a beat that I like, a song that I like. I like the artist, too. I've been doing Jay-Z for a while. I've always got a Jay-Z song somewhere in the lineup. I've stuck with the artist for a while because it's worked. I've had him for about four years. The question du jour every season is what you coming out to this year? Sometimes you go to a stadium and there is a guy that is playing your song and you just played him back at your place and you know he stole your song. You admire guys that do that. You give them a hard time but you know they got it from you because you know you had it first."
Critic commentary: "Jigga's snake-charmer horns are downright ridiculous. Can there be a better batting song than this?" --Saul Austerlitz, freelance critic for Boston Globe and other publications

              Torii Hunter, CF
Songs: "Umma Do Me" by Rocko
Hunter: "It kind of gets you locked in. All you need is a few seconds, whatever, when you're walking up. It gets your focus. You might not get a hit, but it feels like you're ready to do something. Most of the players out there, whatever floats your boat -- slow music, country music, R&B, hip-hop -- whatever it is, those seconds when you're walking up to the plate gets you locked in. When I'm driving down the street and I put the CD in, man, it's amazing. I get in the same frame of mind. I get locked it when I come to the stadium. Then I can hear it in a restaurant or a bar, whatever, it's the same thing. I'm like, 'Wow.' I start bobbing my head. You want to get a hit. It's pretty weird, I can't explain it."
Critic commentary: "The synthesizers whoosh like an airplane taking off for the chorus, but don't you want to come to bat with a slightly more team-friendly message than, 'Umma do me?'" --Saul Austerlitz, freelance critic for Boston Globe and other publications

              Howard Kendrick, 2B
Song: "Get Buck" by Young Buck
Kendrick: "It's just actually something that I like in a song. Most of the guys that have songs listen to it and it's about the hitter playing the game or something that gets them pumped up. It is a personal choice and for me, the song that I come out to is something that I like and I like the beat. It is just something that got me going a little bit. For the most part, come-out songs are either the hottest song right now or stuff that guys like. Maybe there are some words in there that are baseball-related. Like 'Speedin.' If you're a faster guy you might use a song like 'Speedin'. If you listen to a lot of guy's songs, you'll hear that a lot of them are sports-related. You can hear it when it comes on and you come out from the on-deck circle and the announcer says your name. But it's not like I'm going to stand on deck and wait for them to play my come-out song. It is something that you know is kind of like your trademark. Baseball and music, I think, there is a fine relationship, or any sport and music, it seems like it goes hand in hand."
Critic commentary: "The killer beat and menacing brass lick should have the injury-riddled infielder amped to get back and do the slam thing." --Anne Marie Cruz, Staff Editor, PEOPLE magazine

              Mike Napoli, C
              Song: "Yahhh!" by Soulja Boy
Napoli: "I just liked it. We usually play it in here after games that we win and I just liked it. It's the kind of music that I listen to. You hear it, but it's not like you're waiting to hear it. I'm locked in and hitting. If I'm not playing that day or on the road, I listen to other people's songs, but it doesn't really fire me up or anything."
Critic commentary: "People, there's a reason LeBron said there's no comparison between Soulja Boy and Jay-Z. This is one brainlessly repetitive song. At the very least it gets the message across that Napoli wants the opposing pitchers to 'get out my face.' Yahhh, trick, yahhh!" --Anne Marie Cruz, Staff Editor, PEOPLE magazine

              Jeff Mathis, C
              Song: "Breath" by Breaking Benjamin
Mathis: "There are a lot of different reasons I picked the song. But mostly it's personal. I like the drums. I've been playing a lot of Rock Band. I have to pay attention to all the drum parts."
Critic commentary: "This one might be an understandably rousing rock hit, but fortunately, most Angels fans don't have to worry about catching theirs with top-notch signal-caller Mathis behind the plate." --Kenny Herzog, Contributing Editor, Heeb Magazine/Freelance Music Critic

Weeks: "I picked it. It's just an instrumental. It has a beat that I've always been fond of. A lot of times (a walk-up song) is just supposed to loosen you up or make you feel up to a game, something to make you feel good I guess."
Critic commentary: "It's been a struggle for the former No. 2 draft pick, with late-game mistakes in the field and a lack of patience at the plate. You'd think the last thing the guy needs is an adrenaline rush. But this is an intriguing pick, with Chicago's Twista rapping at a mile-a-minute pace." --Jim Welte, freelance music writer

                    J.J. Hardy, SS
                    Song: "Flower" by Moby
Hardy: "The first time I heard the song was at the beginning of 'Gone in 60 Seconds' and I thought it was a pretty cool song. I just kind of like the beat. I don't really listen to a whole lot of music, so I don't have a lot of songs I could come out to. To be honest, I could care less what song I come out to."

                    Ryan Braun, LF
Song: "Go Getta" by Young Jeezy
Braun: "I picked it last year. It was one of my favorite songs at the time and I've had some success with that song, so I stuck with it. Everybody has his own personal reasons for what song he chooses, but for me, it's just a song that I like that has worked for me."
Critic commentary: "No Matisyahu for the 'Hebrew Hammer?' Instead we get a rapper who can't write a rhyme, reciting tired boasts over a generic synth beat. We'll bite our tongue because Braun continues to be one the best young hitters in the game." --Jim Welte, freelance music writer

                    Prince Fielder, 1B
Songs: "A Milli" by Lil Wayne
Fielder: "I have no idea. I really don't hear the music when I'm up most of the time."

                    Corey Hart, RF
Song: "International Harvester" by Craig Morgan
Hart: "It was one of those songs that I heard and I liked. When you pick a song, you kind of want to pick something that is kind of like your personality. You want to pick something that has a good intro because you only get to hear five, 10 seconds. I liked the beginning and obviously the song kind of fit me a little bit."
Critic commentary: "You gotta love this pick. Amidst all the chest-thumping and guitar shredding of walk-up choices throughout the league, Hart goes with a good ol' boy country track about being a farmer who is unafraid to drive his tractor on the highway at 'chug-a-lug-a 5 miles an hour.' We still favor Hart's All-Star Game pick of his namesake's 'Sunglasses at Night.'" --Jim Welte, freelance music writer

                    Bill Hall, IF
Song: "Got Money" by Lil Wayne
Hall: "I like my songs to have a good beat. Hitting is a lot about rhythm, so I like to listen to a good beat while I'm walking up there to keep me relaxed and keep me in rhythm."

                    Mike Cameron, CF
Song: "Put On" by Young Jeezy
Cameron: "When I pick my music, it tries to involve myself, personally, and to try and get the fans involved. This is one of those cities, one of those blue-collar cities that seems to relate, that's all."
Critic commentary: "The 35-year-old vet shows that he can still get down with the youngsters by picking one of the rappers du jour. It's one of Jeezy's better tracks, and it brings with it the comedic pleasure of Kanye West singing in an AutoTune-improved robot voice." --Jim Welte, freelance music writer

                    Jason Kendall, C
                    Song: "Dig" by Mudvayne
                    Working on these now...

I guess you can add them to the crowd folder, even though it's specifically for the Yankees so it fits in both folders. It's up to you.

I will be doing more Bleacher Creature stuff as well as some random banging on the tin pan that Freddie Sez does and other Yankee chants.

Sorry if this has already been posted (didn't feel like going through 26 pages). Found this at ESPN The Mag's site. It was noted (maybe already noted here) that the Cubs and A's don't allow walk-up music.
