what are people complaining for? your going to catch the anyway. its just that the animation kicks in. otherwise ur just going to stand there and catch the ball. i swear people complain for everything.

^^^My set is perfectly fine. The picture doesn't take up the whole screen.

in the main menu go under audio/video and you can adjust vertical and horizontal

What about the black bars though? I can't stand black bars.

Yeah, I've had the black bars the past few years as well. It's not your TV as mine was professionally calibrated and I have the same issues. It's just the way it is on some HDTV's. I've never been able to get a clear answer as to why.

The only way around it is to do what JT30 stated. It doesn't stretch out the picture un-naturally.

Rule 7.05 f -g

(f) Two bases, if a fair ball bounces or is deflected into the stands outside the first or third base foul lines; or if it goes through or under a field fence, or through or under a scoreboard, or through or under shrubbery or vines on the fence; or if it sticks in such fence, scoreboard, shrubbery or vines;

(g) Two bases when, with no spectators on the playing field, a thrown ball goes into the stands, or into a bench (whether or not the ball rebounds into the field), or over or under or through a field fence, or on a slanting part of the screen above the backstop, or remains in the meshes of a wire screen protecting spectators. The ball is dead. When such wild throw is the first play by an infielder, the umpire, in awarding such bases, shall be governed by the position of the runners at the time the ball was pitched; in all other cases the umpire shall be governed by the position of the runners at the time the wild throw was made;

....and I don't believe he can be awarded first base on that play...so he is ruled safe and then given two bases...(I'm pretty sure)

Just turned the sweetest 6-3-1 double play !
Now I am not saying you dont see simular plays but some of these animations are dead on and so different .
No two simular plays look alike if that makes sense,
Its like its alive ?
This game is what Madden should have been to football 2 years ago.

lol at Matty V saying "its 64 degrees under mostly cloudy skies" when the sun is shining brightly.

Also, I love the crowd dynamic in this game. J-Rol was walked by Kazmir and now that he's on first, he's bothering Kazmir to the point that Kaz has tossed over 6 times in a row, and the crowd is booing him.

I know the latter was in last year as well, but it never hurts to mention all the atmosphere and little things this game does so well.

....the black bars...I get them in some games(strangely not the Show)...unless I set my monitor to FILL. You could try that if your has that option.

If his are the same as mine, about an inch on each side - much smaller than the black bars when viewing an HD channel, but the content is not HD. This is the only game I've played that does this (and has the past 3 years). The horizontal "stretch" option in the menu fixes it so no big deal.

I absolutely love the pitcher/batter matchups. There is nothing better than, when pitching, having a hitter completely off balance and watching them "swat flies".

And when hitting, there's nothing better than flicking your bat out at that hard slider and flipping it over the 3rd baseman's head.

I love this game.

Im having trouble with some players not going for the ball. A few examples are (as the Phillies) a grounder down the 3rd base line, not a rocket, and i dive and it rolls right through my fielder. Another, as the CF, a fly ball about 15 feet to this left. I run over to catch it and as im getting close to the circle it doesnt "pull me in" Normally an animation takes over, but this time i ran to the circle and the ball went right through him, for what ended up being a triple. There is no way either guy should have missed it. ANyone else seeing this?
