    Re: IS IT JUST ME?

I always play my season with the my team the Yankees!! I often want to play against other teams that are not in the American League or I just want to use a different team that I kinda like. I don't have the MLB extra innings package so I can't get every Yankees game (I live in TX) so I guess it's easier to play a ton of games with them!
    Yankees!!!! Texas Longhorns!!!!
    GO Spurs GO!!
    Chicago Blackhawks!!
    Bayern Munich!!
    Randy Orton..Legend Killer!!!

      Re: IS IT JUST ME?

I live and grew up in Southeastern Connecticut, so I live in the geographical dividing line between NYC and Boston. Growing up, I had to decide which team to root for. My dad grew up in SW Connecticut and is a Yankees fan. I'll always remember him telling me about Mickey Mantle, Reggie Jackson, Thurman Munson, etc. So when I was young and had to pick a team to follow, I chose the Yankees to bond with my dad. I am a DIE-HARD Yankees fan. I remember the 1980's when they sucked so bad that finishing above .500 was an accomplishment. Those were the days with Alvaro Espinoza, Mel Hall, Jesse Barfield, Mike Gallego, Matt Nokes, etc.

So now, I just have to use the Yanks when I do anything.

        Re: IS IT JUST ME?

This is why I cant play EA games , I just love to be able to have the option to play all games .
I just get bored playing the same team 162 games.
But then again I keep real rosters , real MLB no fantasy land here
I will be trying to playing most of the 2,430 games

No..to counter that, as a Mets fan, I play the Mets and my other franchise is the Rays

I mean I love the Brewers but when it comes down to it I always play a season with a different team, I dont know if it's because I watch all their games and get burnt out playing with them too or if it's because their pitching sucks.......just kidding it does not suck
If you can't play with your home team why is it?
Do they suck......shout out to Nationals fans
Is it because you know you wont win a World Series.......shout out to Cubs fans

I live close to St. Louis, but the Cardinals and the Yankees are the only two teams that I do not like.

The vague reason why I don't like the Cardinals is because they are the "hometown" team. I really do not understand why so many people tend to be fans of their hometown teams. I'm not talking about anyone on this board, but in real life, the "hometown fans" around here drive me nuts.

Now, if you're just someone who's not really into baseball, that's fine, but the people I'm talking about take pride in supposedly knowing baseball and being "fans of the game". The majority of them hardly know anything about "their teams" (Cardinals, Cubs and a few White Sox followers), let alone anything else about the rest of the baseball, but they sure think that they do.

Cardinals fans are known around baseball as some of the most educated baseball fans in all of baseball. I really hope that's not true. These same people, who call themselves "huge fans", go crazy over every single signing. No matter how terrible a player is, people always think that these guys are stars or that they're amazing players. It just sounds psychotic repeatedly hearing how guys like Kip Wells are "awesome" and how they're going to win 20 games.

If you're a Cardinals fan, don't take offense. I'm not knocking anyone. My comments are not directed towards anyone here, unless we happen to know each other in real life and we just don't know it. If that's the case, you probably already know how I feel.

As far as the game goes, I would never play with as the Cardinals or Cubs, but I will trade for Chris Perez and a bunch of their minor leaguers. Their minor league system's are loaded with a ton of my favorite players.

Even if all of those guys (the ones who are some of my favorites) eventually make the team and get called up, I could never be a Cardinals fan due to the reasons that I listed and many more that I didn't list.

              Jason:

I don't know. St. Louis does seem special to me, cuz it is such a baseball town. Off the top of my head, only the east coast rivals it in this respect, however the east coast cities are football cities as well. St Louis is pretty unique. I have to give their loyal/avid fans props.

First off bud selig can go f*** off and using the yankees this year is cheating...but my franchises are only with my two favorite teams, milwaukee (homestate team)and st. louis (long story, seeing as how the are a rival of the crew)...but the only bad thing about milwaukee was the screwed up retro unis which i got almost every game, which i heard are fixed and that i cant wear the blues at home, which i still cant, and the bernie animation was disappointing...

I live close to Toronto...haven't had a team for 15 years so it doesn't matter to me.
I'm going Baltimore and Washington this time ( I think)

Having been born and raised in Cleveland, and a lifelong Indians fan, it's obvious why my franchise is always.........the Tigers.

Ok, seriously, it's the Indians, because I know that team inside and out, and I always have a feeling (Like most Cleveland sports fans) that this is our year!

At least in videogame land, it CAN be our year.

                        I just can't.

In MLB 06, I used the Rays.
In MLB 07, I used the Rays.
In MLB 08, I used the Rays & Brewers.

In MLB 09, I'll use the Rays & some NL team.

I've been a closet Rays fan since 06 if you can't tell.
