Re: IS IT JUST ME?
I'm a Pirates fan, so it is tough to use them every year. A team with no talent AND no minor league talent is just not that fun to play with. I sometimes use the Pirates, but if I don't, I usually use an AL team, since I don't watch many AL games in real life.Comment

Re: IS IT JUST ME?
Seeing the Yanks so often is what makes me want to use them in videogames even more. I can't tell you how often I'll watch a 7pm game during the week and then be fired up to play a franchise game before bed. Re: IS IT JUST ME?
And don't forget to do that to all the other players in MLB that are even remotedly suspected to be using roids. 'Cuz in the public's opinion, anybody who is ever mentioned is a cheater. Also, notch down the durability and stamina of every good pitcher in the game because chances are they've used something too. :wink:Comment

Re: IS IT JUST ME?
Roy Halladay admitted to using scuffed balls.
All 0's now imo
Anyhow, I can't use anyone but the Jays offline, but online I'm thinking of using Washington for my league this year (if they still have those nice Expos retro unis).Blue Jays, Blackhawks, AuburnComment

Re: IS IT JUST ME?
I don't like managing an AL team b/c of the DH, so I usually pick the worst NL team I can get excited about, put one of their rookie pitchers in the rotation and play those games, sim the rest...
Last year it was The Nationals / Ross Detwiler...
They have lots of cool uniforms and a nice park...
Might go back to my chilhood fav this year, The Giants...not sure yet...
But the team whose games I see the most, Tampa, won't make the cut b/c they're in the AL and now, are too good...
Go figure...Comment

Re: IS IT JUST ME?
BOO....BOO....BOO!!! J/K CB.
You know I have to say that being a Astros supporter. I do like Pujols though. Maybe we can acquire him one day
To stay on topic, I always play my franchise with the Astros. If I get two going (which I have in the past), I will play with an AL team. Either the Rangers (have to stay in Texas) or Angels. I have always liked them for some reason.Last edited by kt-od; 02-16-2009, 04:54 PM.Comment

Re: IS IT JUST ME?
I always use the Jays, no matter how sad they are. I am also keeping Marcum on the team, injury or not, dammit.
Last year I did a 2P franchise and also used the Reds, closest NL team and the only other ballpark I've been to besides Rogers Centre. I did this to see the NL stadiums as well.
I'll be using the Jays again, and since the other games appear to be playable, I'll probably just play a few games here and there with NL teams to see the stadiums.Comment

Re: IS IT JUST ME?
Since I don't have a 'home town' team, I have played with a number of teams over the years. Being Canadian, I have played as the Jays several times, including last year (MLB '08).I always use the Jays, no matter how sad they are. I am also keeping Marcum on the team, injury or not, dammit.

Before that I played the Padres (MLB '07). Prior to that I know have played as the following teams:
Angels, Dodgers, Pirates, Red Sox, Marlins, Astros...probably more.
I still need to make my decision this year. It won't be the Jays. In fact, I'll probably eliminate the entire AL East. I'm thinking I want an NL team anyways. Any suggestions

Re: IS IT JUST ME?
Completely agree..almost every night after the Reds game i'll fire up the show. Or especially If I go to a game I get even more fired up to play the game when I get home.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: IS IT JUST ME?
I use the same team...Mariners....every Season or Franchise I play. I always have 2 Franchises going at the same time. One, I stick to the actual MLB rosters and player movements, I initiate no trades etc on my own, I strictly follow what is happening in the leagues.....the second Franchise, I also follow the leagues trades and all other player movement with the exception of the Mariners, I use this Franchise to gratify my "Inner GM" and I will initate trades....sign free agents and move players as I feel needed thru my farm system. I keep all the trades etc etc as realistic as possible...absolutely no trades of a "Batista for Halladay" nature ....I want the game to be as difficult as possible.....for me it makes the games more exciting and the winning more gratifying.Or do you guys have the same issue where you can't play a season/dynasty with your home team?
I mean I love the Brewers but when it comes down to it I always play a season with a different team, I dont know if it's because I watch all their games and get burnt out playing with them too or if it's because their pitching sucks.......just kidding it does not suck
If you can't play with your home team why is it?
Do they suck......shout out to Nationals fans
Is it because you know you wont win a World Series.......shout out to Cubs fans
What is your reason?

Re: IS IT JUST ME?
Doesn't anyone want to use the Twins ?????? I am from Wisconsin but I am a Twins fan, and they have a pretty dang solid team. It will be fun to see how that young rotation holds up throughout the season against the rest of the A.L. Its worth a shot in franchise, and MLB '10 should have their new stadium.Comment
