So if they get fined does the early selling outweigh the fines that are levied out. Seems like it would be, bad business practices to sell early.

The problem is if one store repeatedly is releasing games early, the manufacturer may decide to not ship them the game at all. With the rise in online sales, the manufacturer can sell the games themselves and the only one who would be "hurt" is the store/chain that repeatedly breaks street dates. That's the biggest risk that these stores face when selling games early.

Hey Western Burbs IL Team no luck yet .
I tried to bribe two game stores that have it but no luck Im watching ATL / Astros but I will start looking afterwords . Wallys still looks like our best bet keep trying in your area.

I'm kind of tied in to getting it from a local big box store because I have some gift cards that I want to use. They have a big sign in the front entry that shows the upcoming games and their release dates. MLB '09 is shown for March 3, so I doubt they will put it out early, but I will stop by on my way home today and check.

I know that up here in Canada baseball is not on the top of the list for big releases, and as a result they can be a little slow in showing up on the shelves. It's been better in the last couple of years, but I remember having to wait several days beyond the release date for MLB '07. Last year I helped myself (on release day) to a box on the floor because they hadn't put them on display yet.

SOB! I just went 0-5 on my lunch break. That is a hellacious way to start spring training. I would gladly take one base hit out of 5, but no dice. I will try again tomorrow for a walk off HR to start the weekend.
