Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions

So, you continue to play on LEGEND and wonder why you are getting beat? Why don't you try something else because, seriously, there aren't too many guys here that are successful on this level. We tried it at SCEA and guys who know how to play were getting their butts handed to them.

So please, I'm playing the game, absolutely no indication of comeback code, but I'm also not going to frustrate myself and play on LEGEND then come here and profess others are blind because I'm rightfully getting my butt kicked. Or, are you just that good?

      LOL

I just beat the Marlins 2-1 in Spring Training and didn't have an RBI. The Marlins decided that they would committ 6 errors on the day to help me push 2 runs across.

      LOL

Well after all my bitching I pitched a combined shoutout with Burnett striking out 7 in 7 and Bruney striking out 3 in 2 to win the game 5-0 over the rival Rays. Gonna play another one!

Walk off three run homerun by Ramon Castro bottom of the 11th Mets 9 to 6 win over Cardinals in spring training. Ramon Castro !!!!!!!!!!!! pinch hitting. The replays at the end of the game are phenomenal!

Is there a huge difference when you nail it in the little white line? I almost am never able to hit that tiny line. Especially when I'm drinking Budweiser left and right.

Anyone getting picked off too much, with GOOD base stealers, even?

Phew. Brandon McCarthy has picked me off 3 times in 3 innings with a one step lead with Brian Roberts and then Izturis.

I am just an awful, awful offensive player.

                            Just horrid.

                              Well said.

Somehow, we all just knew these complaints would happen before the game ever even shipped though. LOL

There is an easy way to combat this. Do one of the following two things:

                                1) take a two step lead and then hold your lefts stick towards first base. This will make your guy lean towards first like they do in real life. If the pitcher happens to throw to first, you will automatically run or slide back.

                                2) Take a 1 step lead and hold R1 to lean towards second. You lost that one step but the lean gives you a great jump most of the time if you time it right.

                                Me personally, I do #1.
