Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
Those stadium pictures are ridiculous.
If you listen closely you can hear baseball fans with Xbox 360s running to the store to trade them in for a PS3 and The Show.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
OK guys I'll move over to the new thread. I haven't really had a chance to play the game so I really don't have any in depth impressions yet. The game is amazing.
Sorry if it takes a little time for me to get pics up. I would not have found the game this early if it wasn't for OS. I'm trying to give a little back to the community to show thanks.PSN: PhiNuPi

Quick Impressions:
I immediately went into BP and had a blast. You can choose your hitter and pitcher and any or all of the pitchers repertoire. You can choose between any of the stadiums in the game - but it seems you can only hit during day games. The stadium is empty and it's cool to see no people while you're hitting. 20 pitches, as others have mentioned, and you can easily select play again if you want to go another round. Something I'd like to see implemented is the ability to select pitch type while in the mode - as it is now, you have to exit and re-enter.
Made two roster moves - Orlando Hudson and Manny to the Dodgers. Since most of us are WC guys, you're getting a lot of Dodger love!!I played agains the Marlins in FLA on Legend - no sliders touched.
The feedback from the community event was spot on! When you first get into the game, you feel you're playing in a stadium. Everything jumps out at you - you feel like a tiny player in a huge stadium. The crowd reacts appropriately - Manny gets huge boos.
I only had two singles through the 1st 4 innings and was down 5-0. If you leave a pitch over the middle of the plate, it's going to get hammered. Cody Ross crused a ball to LF for a solo shot. I was playing with low cam fielding and had a hard time adjusting to line drives in the OF - I let a few balls get past me that I should not have. I started to get my offense going in the top of the 6th. O-Dogg doubled to RF and Manny followed up with a 2R HR to LF on a hanging 0-2 CB - it was a great feeling! Either grounded out to SS and Martin followed with a single to CF - another hanging CB. Loney then lined a 2-1 pitch to the LCF gap for a double, scoring Martin. Blake followed with a first pitch single, scoring Loney. I'm now down 5-4 with Kemp coming up. Kemp gets into a hitters count, 2-1 and hits a FB to deed center about 4 steps from the track!SO close, yet so far.
At this point, I pull Billingsly because he's got no command and getting hammered. To make a long story short, my pen sucked. I gave up another 4 runs on a HR, 2 doubles, 3 singles and 1 IBB. I lost 9-4.
I really have nothing but a huge smile on my face. This game really lives up to the hype. It's really tough to play on Legend - you have to prepare for every pitch - both offensively and deffensively - and play smart baseball. I was happy to score 4 runs, but I was playing against the Marlins.
I'd be happy to answer any questions since there are only a few that have the game. I'm going to watch the Lakers for a bit and then log back on.
You guys will love this game - it's incredible!Comment

WOW!!! when the lights come on, when the game goes from dusk to night, unbelievable. I'm playing at AT&T the midgets vs. Dodgers. To go from squinting to see the catcher call the pitch to a full on eye popping visual clarity. This game is a visual beast. The cover guy for 2k is a beast on the mound and boy do they have his wreckless motion down pretty good.Comment
