Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
Just got the game yesterday. I played 3 games so far. My first game was Cardinals(me) vs Cubs. I started Wainwright vs Zambrano. Now in the 3 games I played right out of the box without touching any sliders the game seems to be a little too easy. I was averaging around 10-15 hits a game. While the most runs I scored was 5. The computer hasn't scored more then 2 runs. But it does seem the better players do make an impact. I only hit 1 HR in those 3 games with Dan Uggla off of Manny Parra. Now I must say that every stadium looks beautiful. Everything is detailed and I love the use of the mascots too.
I like that you can hear the thump of the ball being hit against the wall and the bat against the plate. I'm still getting used the be baserunning but I generally have problems with that every year so its no different for me. I'm thinking of bumping up to All-Star the next game I play so it should be a little more difficult. Then hopefully it won't need sliders.St. Louis Cardinals
San Francisco 49ers
Carolina Hurricanes

Chicago Bulls

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
Fielding. I don't like having the catch location on (Sometimes I leave the catch region on) and in '08 you could easily see the ball shadow on flyballs. In the demo (Now that the catch region/area is fixed) I could not pick up the ball shadow hardly at all on flyballs. Don't know if it is because of the new lighting or what.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
ok first issue
i was playing 1080p in citi field and the framereate remained nice
i then tried in yankee stadium and when the ball is hit into play the same framerate issue from last year on 1080p cropped up
720p has no issues which we know due to it being optimized for it and the screen says that again this year
but on 720p i cant read the scoreboard in deep center and in 1080p i can....the out of town scoreboard..
i guess 720p....sucks because the issue seems to be in stadiums like the new yankee stadiumComment

As Jim says, bump up the levels and you will find your hit vanish quicker than you can say "man this is too easy"Comment
