well i'm not wasting time taking pictures of the game to prove i have it, i'll just say the opening movie that played was "Then & Now: 1st Basemen" and it showed Eddie Murray and some older 1st basemen then transitioned to today's guys like Lee, Pujols & Delgado. Also took a ton of time for the main screen to load. Hopefully that was just because it was the first time i played the game and it had to set things up or something because it took forever. I also couldnt get my Rock Band mic to work for the stadium sounds... that confirmation enough? haha

My "Then and Now" was catchers. Strange thing it played catchers twice. I haven't seen any other TaN. I only turned it on twice though so....


I can't tell you guys all the nuances of the game compared to 08 since I got 08 late but I'll tell you the hit variety is on the money. Some things I noticed that do bother me or should I say a thing I noticed was about 3 times I forced a popup behind home but way off to the right and I was unable to move my catcher to attempt to get it. All 3 times the ball landed on the grass so I'm sure I could have got it or at least got a good shot at getting it. I might be missing something but it just seems the catcher just sits there waiting for the ump to give him a new ball.

Also they said, I believe it was them, that they have these new jumbotron movies for strike outs , home runs etc. But you never really get to see them. You usually just catch the last second of it or never see it at all.

Those issues aside the game is great. Played Yanks vs Rays and jumped out on them 6-0 early but I couldn't produce any runs after that and the Rays rattled off 7 unanswered and won. I messed up by pulling my starter to quick in the middle of the 6th. I think I should have let him keep going even though he was getting in trouble. Bruney did good but I then pulled him way to quick and thats when it all fell apart.

Supposed to be sold March 3rd. Some stores get them in earlier and the box might say "sell 3/3/09) but they don't always do that/pay attention to it and then there's people who know people who know people. Happens every year.

Haven'yt played a game yet. Messing around with rosters and sounds and what not. The chants don't sound great imo. Not very clear but maybe it's my mic. I have the usb camera.

at a very special place in Queens, NY..To confirm I have it,
Citizens Bank Park is the picture on the third page under game controls..

Just wanted to add that when you play at Yankee Stadium, the announcer does his best Bob Sheppard impression when introducing the Yankees.

"Now batting.. the Shortstop.. #2.. Derek Jeter..#2"

Thought it was a pretty cool touch and something I never heard before in a baseball game.

AGREE! Bob Shephard is the epitomy of what a PA announcer should be. His voice is just perfect. I remember going to see a Giants/Vikings game at the Meadowlands a few years ago and didn't realize that Bob did the PA for Giants games as well. It was so awesome hearing his voice coming out of the PA. I miss having him at the stadium. (He's been sick a lot lately, and not sure how much longer he'll be with us. )

did not notice this and i played as the Yankees. To me it sounded just like it did last year.
