When I just got 08 It also took me a while to figure it out. But when you know how to do it it's very simple. When you point the L stick toward where the baserunner is at the moment, his icon will start flashing and then you push the base button where you want him to go.

For anyone playing franchise, how often (if at all) have you suffered injuries with your own squad?

Anybody who has the game check to see if trades are still easy to make? That was a problem last year. I could build a monster squad through trades. Thanks.

How would letting injuries that are not happening in real life....allowing you to keep your roster current?
              That doesn't make sense.
As it stands now...if Player A get injured in real life..you simply move him to AAA or AA.
Granted...the best solution would be able to "injure" a player and put him on the DL.
But if you're looking for complete roster accuracy for the MLB...SCEA has it closer to right than in the scenario you propose.

I had a game...Mets vs. S.D. ...franchise(I simmed to later in the season)
With Chase Headley up....Santana let one loose and plunked Headley.
Little cut scene of Headley holding his arm...he's taken out of the game and replaced with Hairston.
                I check after the game..Headley is out for 1-2 months(maybe 2-3 don't remember)...with a broken hand!

Dice....I'll check trades later....but to me...that's so subjective.
I always like to site the Seaver trade and more recent the Santana trade...

For thos who have the game can you see the visiting team's pitchers warming up in the bullpen? Last year you could only see the home team.

                      No...
It has something to do with the logic.
The CPU doesn't actually have to warm up pitchers like you do(in advance)
The game assumes that the manage would call for his pitchers to warm up when necessary, so they are always ready for him
(I actually hope they change this...but I digress)
So the logic isn't there to have the pitchers actually warming.
BUT...they realized that we needed a little hint the CPU was thinking of going to the pen...so they added more cut scenes of the manager/pitching coach going out when the pitcher is in trouble, so you are not so "jarred" when the RP comes in.
Hope that makes sense....sorry...it's early for me

I'm not sure...but I think they had one on release day last year...right?

Either way I'm ready.....but I'd like to compare the two.

I'd hate to have to wait for Opening Day Rosters, so I hope the releases aren't too numerous(hoping against hope I guess)...because without fake players on the FA list....I have no room to move anyone.

You can have injuries. PLay with it OFF, but you'll only be able to control trades, callups/senddowns for the two teams you control during the season.

The ROSTER CONTROL ON is for guys like me and many others who want to keep their rosters current and not play fantasy baseball (in the sense of seeing ARod traded for Pujols during a season). That way when we see that, for example, Pujols goes down for the year on the Cards we can at least put him on the bench in the minors and bring up his replacement.
