Can you break up a double play or do you still slide right through the guy. I'm sure this has been asked but I can't find it.

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
Haha I did but I'm sucking a little bit. Honestly, I'll partly blame the big strike zone because I'm laying off those higher ones that look like they'd be balls like in real life but they end up being strikes. I'm pretty decent with in/out though.
I think that I want to at least bat with the batter cam though so I can admire the lighting change and stadium and such. I've been batting with Offset lately.
I just wish the lighting was a little more "progressive" once it starts getting darker. It begins fine, but there's one point that it's like, "Okay, time to just turn to black." I wish there was that dark blueness that you get in transition to pitch black:
But no matter, the lighting is impressive as is. Just a wish for next year is all.
I think, and I am sure will agree BLZER, that they did a fabulous job for their first outing with progressive lighting.#WeAreUKComment

Not sure I can comment on the affect his has on double plays."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
Okay...
Finally got to get a first look at the final product.
First I went in to get an idea of how the rosters would play out.
I sure wish those All-Time players on the FA list were gone right off the bat in the default rosters....it would make editing for the Full Minors SOOOOO much easier.
Anyway.....it looks good....I should be able to get everyone in there except for one player on each team.(the uneditable dev players....I was doing great through the first 9 teams and then BAM...they started showing up in droves!)...As it stands now...each club will have one guy that you would have to replace. I will provide a wordpad or pdf file of who to create on your own so that once you start a franchise....you can get the new editable players from the FA list(they are created when YOU start a franchise)...and swap them out.
Okay....first play of my game...in Cincinatti ....Jose Reyes doubles DOWN THE LINE for a double. I got a little clip of it I'll put in the other thread if I can figure out how to move the thing...
One cool thing for manage only mode...using the lead and steal buttons work!....you can call for your players to increase leads...and call for them to steal without having to go into another menu!.....however...there is also a glitch that let's you do it for the CPU team also.....not a big deal UNLESS you are a cheater
After Wright singled Reyes in......Delgado(who was called correctly in my game)....doubled to the wall(bounced off the base of the wall).....to score Wright from first!....(the OF animation was a bit wonky...but not scary...he just faced the wall for a second and then went for the ball after it bounced. Looked weird...but not crazy weird ...if you know what I mean)
The highlights at the end of the game are fantastic.
To the guy who was looking for a way to fire the farm director. I haven't even seen it yet...is it only during off season?...I'll continue to search...
Alright...NOW for my nap...more later!

IS it possible to save a franchise file with "your updated roster" and then people could start with that? I don't remember if we can change teams or preferences once a franchise is started? Some of us Yanks fans could prob use your started franchise though.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
Knight, I believe I've found a workaround for getting the devs off of teams and onto the free agent list where they will hopefully never be signed(sorry devs). The only thing is you can't use the release day roster update.
The question I have for you is, how many devs are in the game?I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I can create 20 players which leaves me 29...one on each club(well almost)...
What did you have in mind ?

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
My thoughts were that there are at least 30 players in the FA list that are currently on teams. So, if you replace 30 fake minor leaguers with these real players, that would give you an extra 30 fake/editable players that you can replace the dev team players with.
I hope that made sense, I'm feeling like crap today.
Hopefully more signings than releases.
But you are right!
Thanks!
