Anybody else notice a lack of errors? I may have to ratchet the error sliders up.My Teams

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
I'm absolutely blown away.
I've only played one game and I already know this game should be game of the year. Everything is just so right.
When I play this game I think of this memorable quote: "The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and it could be again. Ohhhhhhhh, people will come, Ray. People will most definitely come."

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
2K gotta be losing alot of money on the ps3 version...360 will sell well only because there is no other option........but then again im just going off of the horrible 2k8 game, have not and probably will never try 2k9 unless i download the demoComment

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
Well generally I prefer 2K9's style of pitching and fielding mechanics so that's why I went that route but as I said before I haven't opened it yet and there's always the chance I can take it back and replace it with the Show. I'd just like to do my due diligence and research before I commit to playing either game from here on out. So would anyone like to give their opinions on the signature pitching motions in this game? Have they greatly improved?Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
Ive noticed the lack of errors, like I mentioned in a previous post, ive seen players make immaculate diving or sliding grabs and hopping up n gunning me out that they have no right doing on a consistent basis.....It would be nice to see them attempt the slide and just miss once in awhileComment

Also think they did a good job with Cliff Lee of the Indians, and Rich Harden like someone mentioned.
All in all I think it's in your best interest to pick up this game if you want to feel like you're watching "real" baseball on your PS3, but that's just my opinion.

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
didnt wanna make a whole thread to ask this question....does anyone know if after downloading updated rosters, will those rosters go into your already started season or franchise? or do you have to start over everytime a new roster update is put out?Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
My first impression:
"Framerate problems? What framerate problems?"
Trust me, from one of the guys who picked up on that in the demo, it is LONG GONE.
Had a great first game on everything default (Vet) right out of the box. 4-2 Cubs win over STL, with Pujols homering and about 5-6 doubles. I took some pics from it and put them in my arena plus the Soriano video I entered in Russel's thread, although I'll try to get a few more gameplay shots next time.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
Well, after fooling around with RTTS for a while (I have a SP and a 3B going), I did my annual Red Sox/Yanks game in NY and in Fenway, this time both on Legend. WOWOWOWOW!!
Legend is no joke. First game in NY, Beckett V CC. Beckett got hammered. 2 homers by A-Roid, 1 by Swisher, 1 by NAdy, and 1 by Cano. I got smoked 10-2. Only life I had was Jason bay who had 2 doubles and Pedroia.
Second game at Fenway. SMoltz V Hughes. I got even more smoked in this one. First inning alone, A-Roid and Cano homered. I could not get a damn out and had to take out Smoltz in 1 1/4 inning. Wake came in and did decent until his 3rd inning and this started all over again. Final score 11-4. Again, only life I showed was Bay who had 2 doubles and Youkilis who homered.
All I can say is wow.Comment

^^^Sounds like you may want to bump it down to All-Star. I can only imagine the Yankees lineup on Legend. So far I am finding All-Star to be realistic and fair.My Teams

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions
I'm loving this game. My only gripe is the Manage Roster set up. Its a HUGE pain to update rosters manually. Its nearly impossible actually. I usually give up and just have the CPU do it, but then it royally screws the lineups from what they are in real life. Oh well, small gripe to how great the gameplay is.Comment
