Likes: graphics, sound, features, graphics, gameplay, modes, and graphics.
Dislikes: Does not show stats for my pitcher at start of game or when coming in from bullpen in RTTS, fielders tend to let too many close plays go by, loadtimes.

Looks like this game is going to get 'Sports game of the Year'.

Really enjoying the impressions, even though I'm not a big baseball fan.

Even still, I can appreciate the work it seems the Devs. put into this project.

Anybody with the game, could you tell me if dynamic attendance is in MLB 09?

      THANKS

          And it's sweet.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Finished just a few monor tweaks (mainly so I would throw walks etc..) and I'm gonna start my dynasty TONIGHT!

Re: MLB 09: The Show - Impressions

I'm chomping at the bit to start a dynasty, but I'm waiting on three things:
                  1) Knight's roster set; gotta have real minor leaguers
                  2) A setting/slider set I'm satisfied with. Right now, I'm having lots of fun with the game, but it's hard to say whether stats are where they should be because I've only really been playing RTTS as a SP which means I've hardly done any batting outside of a couple of exhibition games, and the only stats sample I have to go on is one pitcher. I'm going to have to play some games against different teams using different pitchers and batters to see what needs tweaked. But from what everyone has been saying, it doesn't seem as if much needs tweaked.
                  3) Any word on a patch. Not that I feel that there is anything game killing (not yet, at least) I just don't want to start and then get into August or even season 2 and find out that there will be a patch, but it won;t affect current franchises.

So I really want to get a franchise going, but I'm content to just mess around with RTTS in the time being.
A screaming comes across the sky...

                    Hi guys!

I've seen by reading posts on this forum that some of you have already played a few seasons in their RTTS. Are you plaing like 24/24 or is it a way to sim games and get realistic stats? I remember last year i played my first 4 seasons but in my fifth (my 3rd MLB season) i tried to sim games but was getting crappy stats like a .125 batting average instead of a .350 average so i got bored.

Well after holding out for 2 years i finally got a next gen baseball game. I must admit the main reason I got it is for the rtts feature. So far i am loving it. I created my player named Moose Davis. I started out stong over the spring hitting near .300, but fell off late into the .240 range. The fielding took a little to get used to and the base running is a little awkward but I love it so far. My wife and kids loved helping me create my player and enjoy watcing play.

Not many complaints because most of the problems are just getting comfortable wiht the game. I hit one homer in spring and man what a feeling. I haven't even touched the regular game yet and I do not know when I will.

Great Job SCEA, Hands down best sports game I have played in 3 or 4 years and One of the best games I have played period.

The most important thing is this game is FUN and worth the sleep I will be losing playing it.

The game is flat out awesome. Alot of other companies could take a page or 200 from what this team has done to recreate a sport in videogame form. I love the little things and the pitcher batter interface is dead on.

The only complaint is the online is aweful and it doesnt make sense why they cant fix it and get that part runnign smooth.

The DH fatigue is broken this year for some reason. Last year was perfect imo. You actually rested while playing DH. After two games in my Tigers season, Sheffield is more tired playing DH than Cabrera is after two games at 1B. It will certainly force us to use our bench more but resting a DH isn't realistic. Hopefully this can get patched.
