Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
Okay, I don't know if this was a glitch or just a freaky occurrence but I felt I should post it here anyways.
I was playing a night game last night at the ballpark in arlington, White Sox @ Rangers. 9th inning, 1 out and Jermaine Dye up to bat (I can't remember what the count was, sorry). Score was 7-6, white sox winning. Kason Gabbard on the mound, he throws a fastball to JD low and outside, I mashed the ball up the middle...or so I thought... the ball bounced off the pitchers mound and went straight back to the catcher (Teagarden), Dye was thrown out by plenty he wasn't even half way to first yet.
Further review of the replay shows the ball going past Turnbow and then once gets to the mound it just shoots back to Teagarden as if it were hitting an invisible wall almost. I will have a video of the replay up sometime today.Last edited by JermaineDye05; 03-18-2009, 09:08 PM.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
Well it did but in no way can I see a ball taking a bounce like that, it just seems way too rare. I'm getting the video right now.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
I've gotten the ball hitting the pitching rubber then bouncing back to the catcher for an easy out at 1st before. I'm sure it's physically possible, but I have never heard of it happening. If it has, it must be rarer than a natural cycle with an inside-the-park HR.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
I did not read all the thread but I saw near the beginning of the thread it happened to somebody else while doing a double play so I am not crazy like I thought I was when it happened yesterday.
I was the Twins @ Marlins exhibition game daytime. It was 2nd or 3rd inning 2 outs a man on 1st and 3rd for the Marlins. Their batter hit the ball to my pitcher who dropped it, but threw it just in time to 1st to record the 3rd out. Between the innings I saw the Marlins scored 1 and couldn't believed they counted the point.
Maybe the game mistakenly counted it because the guys got at home and 2nd base before I threw the batter out. Maybe there is a glitch when the fielder drops the ball before throwing the batter out?
Thought I'd let you guys know...
Incredible game by the way!OS Rookie since 2004!Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
I honestly can't stand playing this game anymore due to the two out glitch. This needs to be patched as it's happening in nearly every single game I play and I've actually shut the game off in frustration numerous times now. It completely kills the game for you, it kills your stats, it's unfair. Balls are going through my IF'ers when they're right there, they aren't even trying for them, and they aren't scored as errors. It's just like the fielders aren't even there. It kills your pitcher's ERA when all he's doing is getting ground balls that should be outs, but are registered as hits.
I'm so tired of being up like 3-1 and then all of a sudden, 5 straight hits because the ball just magically goes through my infielders and before you know it I'm losing 5-3. Every single game I have a lead in, this seems to happen now. And no, I don't have the comeback setting on. This isn't realism, this is a glitch, plain and simple, and it's at the point where it's ruining the game for me.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
Wow, it's funny how some people see things while others don't.
I've played about 30 games so far and I haven't seen the double play glitch even once.
As far as balls going through fielders...I will say that I have seen that a few times, but certianly not very often. Maybe 4 or 5 times in those 30 games. (I'm playing with Auto Fielding...maybe that matters?).
I did see this:
<embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i5.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/spitoon/STLatPHI.flv">
Kind of minor because the out was recorded as it should have been...just a funny animation.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
It's getting beyond frustrating for me. It happens in nearly every game I play, every time I have a lead and two outs, I just know it's coming, and then there it is. No matter where I pitch it, no matter where my defenders are, it doesn't matter, it's going to be a hit no matter what.Comment

Re: ***Official Bugs/Glitches Thread***
Sorry if this has been discussed. I am running a Yankee franchise and am currently in the second offseason. The game refused to let me fire Rob Thompson last offseason as my third base coach and this year it changed my pitching coach by itself and refuses to let me fire him along with Thompson. On top of that, both coaches are actually in the free agent pool. At one point I actually hired Thompson as my first base coach (hoping it would remove him as the third base coach) and I ended up with him in both coaching positions.
Has anyone else had issues with hiring/firing coaches, or is this just a faulty franchise or possibly a glitch that only occurs over the first few offseason?Comment
