Re: Hitting in 09 is a tad too difficult

I can say, in 08, Veteran, I had a powerful lineup in the Indians; major hits (doubles, triples, HR's) seemed to come easy for me....

Fast-forward to 09, same team, Veteran, and thru two games in Spring, I've mustered 6 hits total. The biggest hit was Sizemore's triple, but that's it so far.

Bottomline? It IS more difficult;so much so that I actually have to play all ST games, just to get better before the regular season!

Ok, so I'm not complaining, because if it was too easy, there'd be no challenge.....

While 7 at-bats is a small sample size (RTTS), my initial impression with hitting is that it's a lot tougher than last year. I play on veteran difficulty with guess pitch on classic 1/4 and the batting camera on high, but I am impressed with how deceptive they made the pitches. I have never been fooled by a changeup as bad as I did today when I struck out.

Pat yourselves in the back SCEA.

LOL That cracked me up. Very interesting strategy about moving the stick around. I am going to go into bp and give that a shot.

My main problem is I can't tell the difference between a high pitch and a low pitch. Everything seems low to me because of the camera view. I wish the camera view was a little lower. I barely ever move the stick up in the zone to hit a high pitch unless I'm guessing there. If I'm just trying to see the ball hit the ball I will never move the stick up. It might be becasue it's easier to move the stick down then up I don't know.

I also use the 'wiggle the L Stick' before the pitch strategy..

It's like in real-life, my hands are moving a little, then they settle, then swing!

Yes, it helps me, in MLB 09 too...

I'm going to give it a shot but I will make sure I don't go Gary Sheffield on the stick because then I might need to buy another controller!

I'm the same way dude... My damn thumb always pushes down! Sometimes I even KNOW it's high, but because the pitches tend to look like they're going low I still push down. UGH.

Ehh, I think I'll try your stick wiggle method later today.
