Can someone please tell me if the hitting has been improved. Last years hitting was so lobsided with 20 hits a game on the hardest mode, it was just a gamekiller for me. How is the batting stats this year? Does legend mode fix this issue?

Otherwise, sounds great. Can't wait for my copy to arrive.

anybody try legend mode yet on psp version? if so impressions?

I have only played on legend mode, and it is so difficult to hit now and pitch. You really have to be locked in on this mode, IMO it's almost perfect. You no longer have to worry about hitting being to easy, and the pitching meter is so tight, I had a hard time, I walked 3 batters with Guthrie. Everything is refined this year. I think I'm in portable baseball heaven:wink:

Again, can someone please tell me if you are getting the "ping" when you guess pitch type correctly? Its not working for me and its driving me CRAZY!!

also on the left lower side of screen when im batting it shows the guess pitch (r) and then it says "Swing Info" i think? and it shows an arrow beside it, nothing happens when I press the right direction button, or is swing info just showing all the info like guess pitch etc?(I know there is swinger/batter analysis and that is select)

Just got it today as well and so far I love it. Hitting does seem to be harder than last years on Legend. <---(Thank God)

I only played a few games so far so I will have some more thoughts later.

Sucks though there is still no franchise or Fantasy Draft, but they improved season mode.

BTW I wish the payroll was a little more balanced. I simed a season as the Mets and had so much money to spend I got like Webb and another frontline starter. Plus had money to spare.

Also does anyone know why teams show great players available on the trading block? example: Redsox had Lester available.

And I also didn't like how no teams went after to pick up any FA during the season. example: Manny was avalailbe the entire year.

I was only able to play 3 innings at lunch, but I believe 09 is a pretty good improvement over 08. I have noticed new animations, the graphics/framerate seem even smoother, and many of the battings stances for the Yankees have been updated. The cameras for the behind the pitcher view have both been changed slightly for the better (it looks even more like a broadcast). New Yankee Stadium is also gorgeous. Season mode has also been beefed up with Rule 5 draft, arbitration, compensatory draft picks, etc. I am pleasantly surprised.

Sounds amazing! I have purchased the PSP version since it first came out several years ago and can't wait to grab '09. It is such a great game.

Do you know if they included the ability to choose alternate jerseys with exhibition games? Not a major thing but it would be cool if they allowed this for '09.

Unfortunately I don't think you can. Holy Schneikes!! they have the Kauffman renovations in!!

yeah i saw the renovations at kaufmann, great to see, SCEA sure does care about the PSP version too, its so good this year. So Legend mode is a great challenge, that is great to hear!

I don't think you can record your own cheers in the psp version... When I go to the "Edit player section" and then to the "Personalize" Tab, I only see options for "walkup music", "HR celebration", and "Reliever Entry"..what a rip off especially considering the back of the psp box CLEARLY says you can record your own in-game cheers and jeers...other than that its a good game..not to mention the latest psp online roster isnt working for me after I load it..

I am also curious about this as well because on the ps3 version, Swing info tells you the timing of your swing(Late,early,etc), direction of your swing(high,low low away etc) and things of that nature and I keep seeing this swing info thing as well but nothing happens when I press the right direction button.

How do us PSP owners go about getting the roster update?

Can we do it straight through the wireless connection on our PSP? (Like we would during a network update or connecting to the PSP Store)

How is the season mode and what kind of details did they add this year?

I can't wait to pick this game up for psp.

hand just go online(infrastructure mode) in the game and sign up with a free account name/password and you will be prompted ifyou want to save the online roster for offline use, choose yes, save it on your memory stick, you're good to go.

So far I am really digging this Legend mode. I am sure I am a little rusty not playing in about a half a year. But it seems that hitting (and pitching) is a great "fair" challenge.

I say fair, because I have not seen anything cheap yet. If you make great pitches chances are good things will still happen. You just wont be able to get away with as many (if any) big mistakes.

Same with hitting. When you get a hit now you feel as if you earned it. Again it's still early but so far so good.
