The triangle is still there. I've been playing the PSP version of 08 for the past month and know for sure the "ping" was there.

I turned the strike zone display on this AM. It lights up red when you guess the pitch correctly. I don't like having that display on, especially when pitching, but its better than nothing.

Just don't know why they would take it out of the PSP version but leave it in the PS3. Makes no sense.

So is there Fantasy Draft this year for season mode?
      MLB: St. Louis Cardinals
      NBA: New York Knicks
NFL: Houston Texans, St. Louis Rams
      NCAA: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

I just realized there is progressive lighting on the PSP version! It is not as extensive as the PS3, but the sky definitely changes from dusk to dark throughout the course of a night game.

A few people have asked about a fantasy draft. I do not think it's there. I didn't see the option when I began season mode, but I wasn't paying attention either. I'll check again tonight.

It was in last years (the progression), but, assuming it's the same, it's actually just a large rotating sky. So, that "dusk" look you see, will actually come back around if you play long enough.

In fact, I believe if you go into replay, you can rotate the camera around and see the "dusk" in a different area of the sky.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer here, because I like that they do it, just thought I would point that out.

I never even realized it last year. You would think after playing over 100 games of the 08 PSP version I would notice it, but I guess I was never paying attention to it.

No fantasy draft this year. I broke down and bought the game hoping it would be in there, but it's not.

Right now it seems a LOT like '08 to me. Other than the new staduims and graphics overlays, I'm not seeing a whole lot that is different from last year. I've only had an hour or so with it so far, so that may change as I get more playing tme in.

There are a couple of things I'm not sure are in the PSP version or not.
              1) Can we select jersesys proir to a game? I read that it was possible on the PS3, but I'm not sure if it's in here.
              2) Roster sharing. The official web site said this was possible in the PSP. This could allow people to move a bunch of players around in place of a draft and shake things up for those of us wanting to mix up the rosters.

I got this last night and played a game and a half on Legend level.

It plays really good at that level. When I had the game a few years ago, I had way too much offense. I don't think that will be a problem. In fact, the only thing I think they may need to be adjusted is the errors, as I haven't seen one yet.

Quick question, I went to free agents to add Manny Ramirez to the Dodgers, and didn't see him listed. Instead it had all these Hall of Famers (which is cool). but how do I add Manny?
Do I have to start I franchise? I won't be playing with the Dodgers so will I still be able to add him to them?

                Thanks.

Haha, you were just so into the game you didn't notice!

                      Hey guys,

Like last year, I purchased both the PS3 and PSP version of the Show 09 (still waiting for it to arrive). I was wondering if anyone could tell me specifically the differences in Season mode this year. I heard someone mention you can hire different coaches, etc. Or is it mainly the same with new animations, rosters, etc. I'm sure others who are on the fence about the psp version would be curious to know as well.

Also, this might be small thing, but I'm a huge Mets fan and I was wondering if anyone can check if they finally changed Jose Reyes' batting stance to the one he has on the PS3 (any Mets information would be greatly appreciated). Finally, what are the new stances that they have added in this game, or old ones that they finally changed (i.e. Manny). Thanks in advance.

When you say it seems "alot like 08", do you at least notice that the stats have improved. My gripe with previous versions has always been the insane amount of hits your team gets at the hardest level. This year, it sounds like people are saying on legend mode the hitting is more realistic (thank you, thank you, thank you SCEA).

I can't wait to get my hands on this game. One more week. Takes awhile to ship it to the desert, but it will be all worth it when it arrives.

That was my issue when I had it two years ago. It's a small sample, but in my one game playing with the Braves, I had 5 hits. In 3 innings in another game, I had 2.

is RTTS in the PSP version and if so, how is it? Is it like the PS3 version a lot or is a lot taken out?

Got it about an hour ago and I am impressed. Only messed with exhibition games but it is cool. Some initial thoughts:
                              - The game seems to play pretty smooth. I thought 08 played well but this seems even better.
                              - The pitching camera looks a lot better, very much like the tweak the )
                              PS3 version got this year.
                              - The player models look better. I think they simply look smoother? 08 seemed a little rough around the edges of the models but this game, they look great!
                              - Some of the new PS3 stances are in, but some are not. I noticed A-Rod, Jeter, Texeira, Posada, Nady and Cano all had updated stances. But others like Damon did not. New Yankee looks great to.
                              - On the Red Sox, Ellsbury, Pedroia and Drew have newer stances, but others like Papi are still several years old.
                              - I put Manny on the Dodgers and fired up a game vs. the Cubs in Wrigley. No dreads and he still has an old stance. Wrigley looks the same as last year and didn't get the updates the PS3 version got.

I haven't tweaked any sliders yet but just on veteran the game plays pretty well. The game looks and plays fantastic! It is amazing that they pack such a quality product on a UMD.

Veteran on the PSP version ^^^ ?

I found that the camera on "wide" works really well. makes picking up pitches easier. And gives you a much nicer view of the backround.

I have also started getting a few more hits on Legendary, even though I have not gotten that many yet I am thinking of turning guess pitch off for the ultimate expierience. Plus what I find myself doing is if I guess right and the pitch gets away from the pitcher (and is clearly a ball) I am so focused on swinging I swing at a lot more bad pitches. You really focus more and get better at the game with it off. Plus it's a more relistic expierience.

Oh and does anyone know if you can resign a player who is already signed for multiple years on a deal like last year? I don't see an option to ccome up with a new deal if the player agrees.
