Re: Too many two out inning rallies by AI!! (Comeback AI Discussion)
Gameplay = Running Hitting Fielding
If you can cite a situation,(Who gave up what runs)perhaps someone can see if you made a mistake.Comment

Re: For those that question the comebacks and AI play late in the game.
Game 2: Who was pitching when this happened? Who made the errors.
Game 4: Tell me who gave up those runs. Because I KNOW you didnt leave a pitcher in who gave up 6 runs
Game 5:Who made the errors? Who is your gold glove 2b? Was he on the run? And you are a little confident about knowing that homer was coming no?
Game 4 I similarly would've brought in Arthur Rhodes at first. Once the lead was gone, I brought in Jared Burton who had an ERA of 2.5 for me during the regular season. It didn't matter who I brought in.
Game 5 Brandon Phillips was not on the run, the ball went right to him and I doubt the runner was even halfway to 1st when he chucked it into the stands. Yes, I was confident the home runs were coming because I had 49 games in the regular season where the game was won in the bottom of the 9th or it went extras either by me or the CPU. Games that went extra innings, not one single time did one team score in the bottom of the inning after posting a 0 in the top, and not one time did a team score in the top without giving up a run in the bottom. Every single extra innings game, both teams scored in the last inning.
The two most ridiculous ones, I took the lead on Arizona in the top of the 20th. I walked Miguel Montero with 2 outs in the bottom of the 20th to get to Chad Qualls because they had no one else to use. He hit a rocket into the OF to tie the game. Next pitch I lose.
San Diego I took the lead in the 13th. Bottom half, routine ground ball to 2B, airmails it into the stands. They bunt him over, the pitcher fields it and he chucks it into the stands. They bunt again, the catcher throws it so far over the 1B that the ball rolls back to the wall. 3 pitches, 3 routine grounders and 3 routine throws, and 3 runs and they win. I would've been mad if I wasn't so impressed at how they decided to screw that game up.
Errors are fine, it's just horribly predictable when they will occur and there isn't anything I can do about throwing errors, they're just random.Comment

Wow, what a big thread!
I posted in a different thread that I was having an issue in RTTS as a pitcher with two outs. It almost seems on as if it's scripted that if they didn't have a base running in the inning and there are two outs, they're going to get a hit now.Comment

Re: Too many two out inning rallies by AI!! (Comeback AI Discussion)
I played all 162, here are my 5+ run wins:
Reds 8 Mets 1
Reds 8 Brewers 1
Reds 7 Pirates 1
Reds 5 Indians 0
Reds 9 Blue Jays 0
Reds 9 Indians 0
Reds 7 Indians 1
Reds 6 Cardinals 0
Reds 6 Cubs 1
Reds 12 Giants 5
Reds 7 Cardinals 1
Reds 8 Giants 1
Reds 8 Pirates 0
Reds 8 Dodgers 3
Reds 8 Rockies 1
Reds 7 Cardinals 1
17 games in 162. Tad over 10%. It'd be interesting to see how that compares to real life.
5 run losses will be few because I would tee off in the 9th and hit meaningless homers all the time so it didn't look so bad, but I'll look through anyway.
Brewers 5 Reds 0
Astros 7 Reds 1
Cardinals 10 Reds 5
Phillies 5 Reds 0
White Sox 8 Reds 3
Cubs 6 Reds 0
Pirates 7 Reds 2
Cardinals 9 Reds 3
Pirates 5 Reds 0
Had an 5 run loss in the playoffs so far as well, so 9 in 162 in the regular season. I have a good starting rotation for the most part so blowouts should be few. I made the playoffs so I'll poke through the 2008 season and find someone who had a comparable record and good rotation, whoever closely matches my season the most and see how these compare.Comment

What level are you on?
BTW, if you feel like divulging, how does one go about collecting that type of info in real MLB?Last edited by livnlegn; 06-17-2009, 05:49 PM.Comment

Heh, thats a tough one. Perhaps someone has done it already? If not...then I imagine you would have to do it yourself. If you could find a calender that is like the one in the game, where it shows the scores and everything, then it shouldn't be too long. If no one else does, I might get into this tonight.Comment

Re: Too many two out inning rallies by AI!! (Comeback AI Discussion)
Just thought I would throw this out there as I will be selling this game on feebay next week did you ever play a game and restart the same exact game in a seasonif you try it youll understand what I mean lol. Hollywood has nothing on SCEA .
I only have a few gameplay wishes and one is the issue SCEA wont address whether you call it scripted , comeback ect I personally call in game calculations which helps the AI detirmine situations and in game outcomes which the users skill has no impact in the outcome.
Sliders and levels that actually work or do what they should Vet shouldnt feel like all star ect, ect.
Talking with a few vets here and while 09 was a great improvement JUST Incredible 08 was alot more enjoyable to play.
It was actually very fun to play and it felt like your hard work was rewarded with great replay value .
It was actually fun to lose but this year we just feel cheated most of the time do to the clutch,
confidence boost and comeback stuff that happens in 09 .
( I understand thats just baseball but at this point I might as well play a CPU sim or strat o matic board games).
I could go on and on , SCEA also told me no boost for cpu/AI in the playoffs but anyone who played a season and then started the playoffs could see the difference in difficulty in clutch situations or when you score a run.
Its disappointing to feel at times your hard work and skilled patience gameplay has little or no impact in the game
Alls we really wanted this year was a even playing field and I just feel this is a sad case of SCEA keeping it too real and it went wrong .
Ps In closing this is no way a knock on the SCEA Team but its what me and many feel .Last edited by dorismary; 06-19-2009, 07:48 AM.Comment

Re: Too many two out inning rallies by AI!! (Comeback AI Discussion)
I'm a usual suspect but here are some scores from my Royals and Reds Franchises.
I pitched 4 total with 3 straight shutouts in April with the Royals.
With the Reds in April.
No added superstars for either team. Playing on HOF with PsychoBulk's "Perfect Slider Set". Again, these games were in April. I'm almost done with the first season in both Franchises and I've had many games like the ones above.Last edited by Jackdog; 06-19-2009, 09:30 AM.NFL:Packers
MLB:Reds/Tigers
NHL:Red Wings
NCAA:Michigan Wolverines.
F-1: Ferrari.
It's been a while OS. Hope all are doing well!Comment

Re: Too many two out inning rallies by AI!! (Comeback AI Discussion)
Im sure if if some only play a few games a week everything seems fine but when you play 4 games a day since May you cant deny these little boost, comeback and confidence issues.
My personal favorite with boosts and such is when the cpu visits the mound twice in the first inning after a walk or so . Oh and the pitcher by mlb rules should be pulled on the 2nd mound visit lol
Thats like a red flag about what makes up the guts of this game.Last edited by dorismary; 06-19-2009, 09:23 AM.Comment
