What does the patch do?

As I mentioned in the online impressions thread, the check swinging online is fixed. Which is great. And I thought this first patch was supposed to be like completely focused on online anyway I thought so..

I could be wrong.. but in one of the online impressions threads russell said their was a patch coming at the end of the week (would of been last week and this is probably the one he is referring too) and I assumed it was the patch would be for online?

Installed the patch, looked at ARODS homeruns....553 (this off the default roster).

Jim - that's right, but I've checked this and the problem still exists with the loading of the roster, stats still get skewed...

Next time you power up the game, don't go online and load the latest SCEA roster, A-Rod will have 203, Teixeira 553...unfortunately that load glitch is still there, so the workaround goes on... just something to be wary of.

i believe it was for online lag, check swing, ai difficulty etc, but i could be wrong

Why are some console dev studios are so reluctant about this? So used to the PC world where they release update notes. Although SOE is notorious for patches for their MMOs with no release notes.

They rather start working on the next version rather than spending time fixing the current one. They only have a year to create the next game so they'd like to get on it ASAP. At least that's what the devs of NHL 09 said about patches.

I believe Ian (in the Madden forums) mentioned that you are allowed a freebie in terms of patches, but after the 1st one you may have to pay Microsoft/Sony? I know there was some stipulation.

That being said, since this is a 1st party title, I wonder if there is some sort of leniency there.
