Re: I just can't judge balls/strikes in this game

Since switching to wide camera for batting and lowering pitch speed, I would say I've gotten better reads on the ball coming in at me, but I still strike out to much sometimes when I break away from my little rule....

...always take the first pitch. If it is a ball, I do not allow myself to swing until I get the first strike, then it is open for swinging. If I get a ball again, I go back to my rule until I get a strike. The only exception to the rule is a ball throw down the pipe.

This works well to get the pitchers pitch count up and has lead to some very nice hitting.

I hope they add more cam positions. I myself would like the wide cam view but just a bit lower to the ground. I personally play with -2 pitch speed (0 being default) & for some reason gives me enough reaction time to judge pitches. But let me tell you, one day I can be on my game & hitting the ball like nothing & the next I'll be K'ing like if im batting against a young Randy Johnson... Damn old age!!!

I"ll tell you another thing that helps me judge balls strikes. Well it helps with patience as well. Turn PCI on. Go into bp and don't even bother thinking about swinging for the first round. Judge the pitch based on if it's going to land inside your PCI or JUST above or below it. With the PCI on (unless it's an awful hitter) the PCI will cover the entire plate side to side. It will not cover the upper 3rd and lower 3rd so basically if you have PCI on and you are watching the ball come in all you have to do is ask yourself is the pitch going to land in my pci or JUST above/below it? Then react from there. This will help you draw more walks and just pick out better pitches to hit at the plate.

If I can only do this consecutively I would be that much better.
