I don't know if this is a bug that has already been reported - sorry. While in replay mode, I tried taking a video. Video started recording, then an error message of some sort popped up saying the video could not be recorded. But it continued to act as if it was recording, and would not let me "stop" the recording, nor exit replay mode, no matter how many times I tried. Had to cold boot the game, and as a result lost my first major-league homerun and RBI.

What game mode did the bug happen in?

I believe a fix has been found for that. Something to the effect of making sure your controller is set as port 1. Something else connected to your PS3 is probably assigned to it so you may need to disconnect it or reassign it. This also may be a workaround for the practice glitch.

Affirmative, this came from someone on the PSU forums:

I THINK I may have found a fix to getting stuck in the replay arena. I have done this numerous times and have gotten out.

I notice that MLB 09 the show has a few issues with the controller set to port number 2 when playing one player. I have a buzz thingy attached to my ps3 so when I turn it on my controller always turns on as number two.

I can play games like this but I can't take batting practice and I can't use some of the features in the replay area. L1 and R1 to be exact. My two favorite buttons on replay, SLOW MO!!LOL

Anyway I found when I set my controller to number 1 then shut it off and turn it back on everything works fine. I can use all the buttons and I can exit the replay. I have also had this happen when my controller WAS ALREADY SET to number one. I changed it to number 2, shut it off, turned it on, set it back to number 1, shut it off, turned it back on, and I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT!! I haven't been stuck in a replay since I found this. I'm recording like crazy now.

Thank goodness too because I wanted to keep my walk-off two run homer that I earned two trophies with!!

Try it and see if it works for you, I hope it does as I've not had a problem since.

Just saw it this onetime, not something you would get a chance to see over and over againAccepted invite to a League. Selected the Dodgers for my second slot of league play. When I went to the Lineup option to set my lineup, I had no starting lineup on the left side. All I had were the fielding positions no names. All my everyday players (Non Pitchers) were on the bench, I moved each over to the starting positions in the batting order I wanted. That was 1-8. My 9th position for the pitcher showed as empty, I have no pitcher to select from for this position, I tried another position player and the game wont let me move another bench player into that spot. I proceeded to try and play a league game and after selecting my pitcher in a National League game, it went to the lineup screen. Ok so far. In the lineup screen my pitcher spot says None (Empty). If I try to move my selection to that spot, I get booted back to the xmb.

Is there a work around? Can the Commissioner drop me from the league that already has started? Would I be able to get back in by another invite?

Update: Once removed from league that has started, you are unable to be invited back in.

Another Question, Is it possible to delete a league? If not would SCEA delete it for us?

I had a bad one last night. I was fixing my roster right after spring training at the start of the regular season. I did my MLB and AAA lineups first, but when I got to the AA lineup the 9th spot was empty and I couldn't put a player there. I tried about 5 times to put a player in that spot and on the fifth try, the game booted me to the XMB. Plus, I forgot to save the game before that and lost tons of stuff, but that's just dumb on my part lol.

This happened at the start of my third franchise season.

I triggered it with the actions from the first paragraph, but I'm not really sure if it can be recreated.

How often can the bug be reproduced?
This is the first time I've experienced this, so I have no idea if it was just a random thing.

While simming, I have noticed that most to all of the league leaders in saves have more saves than innings pitched. While it is possible to get a save for less than one inning of work, it's not going to shake out that way over the course of a full season for even one guy, let alone most closers in the league

Any time a significant number of games are simmed.

D1 was not true (your team was ahead by 4, and the rule is no more than 3), and more than likely neither was 2 (two runners were on from the setter, and [from what I'm reading] none of the batters the closer faced got on base so he didn't actually encounter the possible tying batter. Had one of them gotten on, then maybe that would carry some weight.

Uh, no. The key-word in MLB's rule is the "potential" tieing run. And the potential tieing run was the guy on-deck.

Also, whatever happens after the closer comes in does not factor in to wheter or not he gets a save. Its all about the circumstances he enters the game with.

This mainly for players who's names cannot be found in the database. I've done three years now through my franchise and I just noticed this because I finally decided to play a game and couldn't help that Stan Andrus was called Edinson Arias (Matty V you're losing it )

I took the original default rosters and made every transaction since the end of January (roster cutoffs), I then autofixed most of the teams. I am fixing rosters and when looking at the orioles minor league pitching rotation it shows Robby Hammock in the bullpen. A fake pitcher was on the bench in the lineup screen for the same team. Also found it on Red Sox, Yankees, White Sox, Tigers, Royals, A's, Rangers, Nationals, Cubs, Astros, Brewers, Pirates, Dbacks, Rockies, and Giants. Sometimes it is pitchers and position players screwed up, sometimes just one, sometimes 2 pitchers on bench, sometimes 2 position players in bullpen, etc. Sometimes it could be fake players but some are major players (Joakim Soria on the Royals lineup bench). I do not remember if the teams listed above were the only teams I autofixed. Easily fixed by simply moving player up or down a level and then back to original team, but gets irritating when it was half the teams. I seem to recall this being an issue in MLB 07 (did not own MLB 08 so do not know if it happened then or not).

How often can the bug be reproduced?
Tried resetting rosters and making a bunch of random transactions, then autofixing and could not find any instances. But this happened to me in MLB 07 with and without autofixing.

After making a bunch of transactions between teams went to set lineups and sometimes the P spot in non DH lineups is empty even though the rotation for that team is full.

Happens often, occurred in MLB 07 as well.

I am on first, third base comes on and tells me to steal second. I get my 2-step lead, pitcher throws over and the ball goes into the stands. I move up to third automatically (Game moved me up, I did not move). I don't see a message saying the goal was canceled. I don't steal home (obviously), and I lose 10 points because I did not attempt the goal. How could I? I was past 2nd already.

How often can the bug be reproduced?
Only happened once to me, but I am assuming it will happen every time.

Men on 3rd and 2nd, 2 outs. Batter chops one to 1st, who barely beats out the runner for the 3rd out by stepping on 1st base. However, the runner from 3rd had crossed the plate. The run counts, even though it should not. I don't know if I can recreate it, I have not tried yet (still playing the game).

Not sure, I have not tried to reproduce it yet.

I know this has been mentioned before but i tested it more indepth than I have seen others.

Replay record error. When I first got the game I was able to record replays. However, I have not been playing the game much at all since the first week it came out. I downloaded the patch (version 1.01) when it released. The last few days I played a couple games and both times I went to record the replay, it said the movie was finished and when I tried to exit it said there was an error and it would not let me leave the replay screen. I would have to restart the ps3.

I decided to test it. I would start a game and play a couple batters and then enter replay in order to record. I would move the camera where I wanted and press record. After pressing record, if I pressed any button or moved the analog stick, it would say the movie was finished recording and then have the error screen show up. After restarting I tried again. I did this a total of 10 times with various teams in various stadiums and every time I tried a replay it did the error.

I decided to delete the game data and reinstall the game WITHOUT installing the first patch/update. After starting a game and doing exactly what I did before, I was able to record the replay with no problem whatsoever. I proceeded to repeat this 9 more times with various teams and encountered no problem. Every replay recorded without error.

I then downloaded and installed the patch/update and then started another game. When I went to record the replay, the same thing happened as before where the movie would stop recording and an error message would show and I could not leave the replay. I did this 9 more times and every time the error occurred.

I believe it may be due to the first patch/update.

Every time with the patch. Does not happen without the patch.

When changing # of Innings in the Gameplay Settings the game does not save the those changes to the # of Innings. I have to go into the Gameplay Settings and change the # of Innings everytime I load up the game because it won't save.

Probably all the time.
