    Re: Official Bugs/Glitches Thread

I've done double-switches a few times in chise but have never had that happen. However, you never see the new position player when you do it (although during the first AB against your new pitcher, the PA announces the sub). During your team's next at-bat, Vas & Co. announce your defensive sub from the switch.

What game mode did the bug happen in?

      Franchise.

How did it happen or what did you do to trigger it? Can you recreate it?

I've shown videos where there is a dead zone to the left/right of the pitcher where he will just run by a ball that's hit there. This one is with the catcher and I've noticed that he will STAND UPRIGHT when coming out to get some of the balls hit like this resulting in the runner being safe. This is Ryan Zimmerman running and he should not have beat this out. Perhaps rework this so the catcher stays low and it should fix the problem.

How often can the bug be reproduced?

      Particular plays.

I'm up to bat with runners on 1st-2nd and less than 2 outs, I'm asked to bunt. I end up popping one up on said bunt attempt and I'm called out by virtue of the Infield Fly rule. I believe that is incorrect. My understanding of the rule is that it doesn't apply to bunts that result in popups.

How often can you reproduce it?
Probably every time the situation comes up
Just had it happen again as a 1B in RTTS but to a player on the opposing team (I was on D). Could someone double-check the rule here because I'm pretty sure it doesn't apply to bunts that result in popups.

It doesn't apply to bunts, you are correct.

Thought that was the case; first I heard of the rule was in Deep Space Nine - Take Me Out To The Holosuite

              ^

I remember you posting this in my thread, which also had a "bug" to speak of that I should point out. But it wasn't so much of a bug as it was just premature programming code.

              Game Mode
Franchise (Spring Training), but it would occur in any mode.

How did it happen or what did you do to trigger it?
First and second, pop up in the infield. The issue here is the umpires automatically declare in out once the game recognizes the ball will in fact make its first bounce fair, but as my thread indicates, the ball ended up going foul after it bounced. In my thread I just wanted to make sure that this was indeed a foul ball if left untouched and not an automatic infield fly just because its first bounce was fair.

How often can you reproduce it?
Would be tough to show footage of because the situation doesn't happen often enough (the ball would have to spin the right way, be before the corner bags, and I would have to let it drop with a force out at third and less than two outs). But it happens any time that an infield fly is called.

And also not a bug, but we don't get any opportunity to "run at our own risk" during an infield fly. The game recognizes it as a killed play where I can't do anything with my runners even if I wanted to. Again, this situation wouldn't really allow me to do much with it anyway, but it would be nice if I at least had control just in case.

                Re: Official Bugs/Glitches Thread

Re-reposting from #2 (cannot practice with RTTS player because he doesn't appear). Just had another user on PS forums confirm that if your player has been playing a secondary position recently, he won't appear for practice sessions. So it's definitely tied to that.

Reposting from #95 (defensive double switch bug, fielder's first AB gets credited to the pitcher replaced).

                Mode: Franchise w/fan drafted rosters

Description: Brewers (me) at Giants. I double-switched in bottom 6th (Giants batting, Brewers on D), bringing in reliever Jeremy Affeldt (replacing 3B Pedro Feliz, batting 6th) and 1B Richie Sexson (replacing SP Ervin Santana, batting 9th). I also moved 1B Andy Marte to 3B since Sexson doesn't play 3B. Sexson leads off in top 7th, gets an infield single (weak grounder that the catcher retrieves but beats the throw to 1st). When Sexson came up to bat again later in the game, it acted like this was his FIRST AB and it wasn't. Replay vault at endgame said he got an infield single in his first AB but it was credited to Santana who was 0-1 (4-3 groundout and a sac bunt), box score showed Santana being 1-2. I think this only happens on double-switches made while on defense as players used in double-switches that entered the game pinch-hitting for the pitcher are being correctly credited for their ABs.

Rate: Any double-switch made while on defense.

Edit: Yes, double-switches made using a player that pinch-hit for the pitcher work properly but he shows up in the box score twice (once as PH-P, and again immediately afterward at his new position). However, the stat totals are correct as they don't count the dupe player.

Don't know about the stamina thing but there is a glitch in the box score (already posted in B&G).

If he pitches at least 10 innings, it doesn't show the 10s. Sounds like it doesn't show the full IP count as well.

I am not sure about this, but check the ERA to see if it only recorded 4ER's for .1 innings or it just says .1 innings. Do you understand what I mean?

                      Mode: RTTS

                      Position: CP

                      League: AA

Its nowhere near a big deal but thought it should be mentioned, that when I come into the game theres an animation where the player is wiping his brow with his hat off, when he puts the hat back on the top portion still shows hair. It disappears when the game starts but for the rest of the animation it does that.

It happens every time that animation occurs.

Kind of, but it just says IP: .1

Game Mode: Road to the Show

I just noticed that most (all?) of the CPU created players, the kind from the draft, have the announcers call them by a completely different name.

What did you do to trigger it?: Nothing, as far as I can tell.

Can you reproduce it?: I think I noticed the same problem in Franchise mode, but I can't remember for sure.

i am batting, with a ?-2 count, i strike out, but the ball goes through the catchers glove, to the backstop, the catcher just sits these (still in his crouch) and does not move, and i am able to circle the bases on a strike out, (and the run score), this has happened to me twice where the ball goes through the catchers glove, and no one gets the ball and i am able to circle Da bases....
