Re: Most Annoying Lines By The Announcers

All of them! I absolutely despise the team of commentators that they use, it is one of, if not the only thing that I hate about the game. Campbell and Huddler especially say the dumbest things all the time, are completely unrealistic, and repeat lines FAR too often. The commentary is very delayed as well, as lines occur at a delayed pace after the play has occurred. If all Sony does is change which announcers do the commentary next year, I'll be very happy. I'd love to hear any other team, hell, I'd rather listen to Joe Morgan (the greatest person that ever lived) and John Miller. At least Steve Phillips is an addition to the Sunday night broadcasts this season, although I feel a little bad for him.

Please, please, please, get rid of these announcers. Their ridiculous, unrealistic, and much repeated commentary has to go! The game would be much more authentic and enjoyable with a different commentary crew.

The other day, Hud was on me pretty hard and I finally got fed up with him and yelled 'Shut the F--- up Hudler, you sucked anyways!'

I don't know why, but it made me laugh at the time.

But I have 2 lines I hate the most...

          1. Matt: "...ohhh and that's just a TERRIBLE hack".

          Ahhh F you Matt Vaginersian.

          2. Hud: "...and the crowd's fallen into a lull here in the middle innings".

That one annoys me to no end.

I hate all of them, but for some reason when he says "shake your self", I smile and do the Harlem shake. lol.

They have to add fresh new announcers to the game. 3 years straight is enough.

But that's low on my wish list, so I can wait.

This might have also been mentioned but I can't stand Rex and his....."Get down, get down, get down!!" on liners caught by the outfield.

i really hate the announcers in this game.
Takashi Saito is a better closer than JJ Putz.

                  One I do not like.

"They're heading to the airport after the game. I bet they'll be a really quiet bunch."

Just seems like it is said too often.

Oh yeah, how could I forget that one! Especially since most of my games are low-scoring affairs, which means I hear this about 90% of the time!!!

Completely agree, could not have said it better.

I'd like to see MLB 2k's announcing in this game. One thing 2k got right was the announcing, it's really good by all accounts.

Anything said while the pitcher making his delivery. "Had no trouble swinging at the pitch out of the zone, then watches one in the zone." It's time to swing again before the announcer is finished. I'll have to I'll admit that I'm a little quick to push X to skip ahead (especially when I'm playing badly), but it's very hard to concentrate on the next pitch when someone is making a mockery of your last attempt. I play better with commentary off, but I don't want to miss out on the game's overall great announcers.

To quote an old joke: You can buy a John Denver tape for $1.....a blank tape costs $2. He could double his money if he'd just be quiet.

Thanks, I agree with you also. Although I've only played the demo of 2k9, it was so much better listening to Steve Phillips and Gary Thorne. They actually discuss the game and it's play, not try and make ridiculous jokes and sound like idiots. I enjoyed their use of broadcast presentation also. I really think that The Show could use better commentary as well as increased presentation, such as a partnership with ESPN or MLB tv. I really do love The Show, but something needs to change regarding commentary.
