Re: MLB 09 The Show Patch Announcement From the MLB Development Team

sorry guys, I was out all night. Rosters are uploaded on roster vault.(CB Roster) Can't upload here right now, as a friend of mine has my flashdrive.

Hope it helps someone out. Enjoy

Will this patch fix the Atlanta Braves road uniforms you think? That's the one thing that bothers me more than anything. I know it seems silly but the hats don't match the alternate jersey. When they wear their road blues they also wear the navy blue hats. They don't wear the the hat with the tomahawk running trough the A.

I'd really like to see this fixed if at all possible, the historical aspect of it doesn't mean a lot to me. And although I would like to see the schedule fixed it's not as big of a deal since I rarely ever play the Cubs anyway.

The lineup glitch is a problem though but haven't some players found away around that anyway? I know when I was fooling around on Sports Connect this afternoon I saw one player have the lineup glitch as a part of his roster download. I even played the Rockies to make sure and sure enough Todd Helton was batting 3rd.

I almost forgot, I hope it addresses framerate issues in some stadiums (namely Yankee Stadium and Dolphin Stadium).

The only way around the lineup glitch is to edit players attributes. Then down the road, you have problems with the lineups anyway. It is not ideal.

If your only problem is the Braves unis, then you are a lucky dude.
No, I don't think they are going to devote any time to fixing unis due to the other issues taking precedent, unless you want the patch released in late May or early June. Sorry about the unis, but I think you will have to live with it, but you never know.

It's actually a lot of guys after I looked around. B. Wagner, Pujols, the list goes on and on and varies from roster to roster and when you loaded them.

Yea, now that you put it that way, it is a big deal. Stats are king in baseball.
I was playing a stock SCEA rosters franchise, and after a few games, for some reason a lot of career stats got messed up even though it was fine in the beginning. I wouldn't have noticed it except in the paper, there was a headline about C. Villanueva of the Brewers breaking the career saves mark or something like that. I checked and he had 550+ saves all of a sudden. Don't know what happened there.

Its just a quick recognition ( sometimes ). For example, I recently broke Joe Dimaggio's hit streak and not a word was said. I broke it with an RBI double in the fourth. They just commented on my hit. They only seem to recognize hit streaks and such when it's a single. I say start your franchise if you plan on playing all 162. I start usually as soon as possible but always fall short. Usually when the summer games come out. ( Ufc, ncaa, fight night, etc this year ). Also I know its too late but I wish they would patch in a better celebration when you win the world series. Skipped ahead to check it out and it is very lackluster to say the least. Not as rewarding as it should be. Technically you're "beating" the game. The celebration should be rewarding. I would love to sit back and watch a sick long celebration.
Yea. Heck the best celebration in sports gaming history is still probably Tecmo Super bowl on the Nintendo. That's been a long time folks. You would think they would be dumping champagne, kissing female reporters, riding a horse around Yankees stadium, and everything by now:wink:.

they could tell us what they are "working" on, and a guess at a release date. I dont see how asking that much is so difficult.

I also think they should release the game next year on opening day, instead of rushing the release and having a game you can't start a franchise with until May. I know Sony has a lot to do with that, but just a suggestion.

and thanks to all the people who help make the rosters !!
                  great work !
I'm probably going to be attacked for saying this, but so much for their communication with the forum . (I was just looking for any excuse to use these emoticons, lol)

Maybe they got stuck on the island in "Lost", are working for the Dharma Initiative in the 1970s, and can't get back to our time period. Right now as we speak, they are working on Intellivision baseball with the crude technology they have.

Below is Russell after he time traveled in Lost and ended up in the Sahara desert and the game they are working on now (patch this OSers! they say)..

^^^lol...well, I don't know if I'd communicate too much here either right now. It could be brutal. They've already stated that there is no tangible update, so any communication is likely to lead to a barrage of repetative questions and exaggerated claims of the game's "brokenness."

Jokes aside, IMO this particular forum has spiraled downhill from the great one I used to lurk so much that it ended up getting me to join OS. Oh well. (That was not directed at your post, BTW...it was actually pretty funny. It was more towards the general tone this forum has taken lately...sad).

They could also be busy working on MLB 10 The Show plus the patch. Having a yearly development cycle can't be that fun to do.

Actually, it's only been a little over 2 weeks since Russell posted that they were working on a patch (April 7). Not that I pretend to know what's involved with patching a game (especially one as extensive as The Show), but I would think that 2 weeks is virtually nothing. I would imagine that just creating the patch is a lengthy process in and of itself. Then it must be extensively tested to make sure the fixes actually work and that it doesn't inadvertently create any new problems. We must also consider that if they do find a problem during the testing process, then it's back to the drawing board to try and fix it. I wouldn't expect SCEA to give updates beyond it's being worked on & tested. They are not going to tell us what they are attempting to fix until it is indeed working properly. Otherwise they might be making promises that they ultimately may be unable to keep. As much as we all are eagerly awaiting the patch, I would rather they spend a long time on it so that when it finally does come out it's worth the wait, rather then rush something out that isn't very substantial. I'm not trying to lecture or anything, but I just wanted to add a little perspective as we are all chomping at the bit to see what the patch will fix.

I understand it is just a game, but I do like to have the most realistic line ups. and since I will play with the Cubs I would like to see thier schedule reflect the correct number of day games.

no problem with the game really makes it unplayable, since I dont play online. I just dont understand how things that have been good in the past are screwed up this year ??

it is the best baseball game there is but there is always room for improvement. some people just like the little things fixed before they start a franchise. I will not wait until May, so hopefully it will be released soon.
if you download the rosters I have in the vault, you won't have either the lineup glitch nor the career stats glitch.

I agree with the poster above about the celebration in Tecmo Bowl being excellent. Ea's Nhl series usually do a good job with the celebrations as well. Back to the patch. I am about 55 games in to my franchise. Around ten games over .500 but every game the announcers seem to think I am exactly .500 with comments like " if they lose this game they will fall back below .500" and vice versa if I'm winning. Hope they ironed that little annoyance out.
