Its just amazing how some people are. Rondo seriously bro you know exactly what Jim meant. What kills me is how much people have complained but yet instead of going to play other games, they keep coming back and complaining more. What is so seriously wrong, tell me one perfect sports game please, i am waiting and please dont go mvp 2005. Good game and it got me back to playing baseball, but it had its flaws as well. All Jim was saying is you can make your point and not give attitude or be disrespectful and do it in the correct thread. I mean is it that hard ?

Is the CPU lineup issue fixed? I haven't have 5 min to read here or post. Any help appreciated that was my main concern.
Haven't started my season, waiting for Josh Bard! And the Manny suspension!Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
This is a patch impression thread. And in case you didn't realize it, the patch actually broke more than it fixed. So, for people to complain about things that were broken that were ADVERTISED is their right to do so. And the fact the patch was fixing things (or suppose to fix things) that should not have been broke in the first place really says a lot.
EA gets tons of flak for Madden, and rightfully so. But when SCEA FAILS to deliver on certain modes, just as EA does, they deserve it to.
Seems to me there are a lot of people not liking it when other people bash "lil ole SCEA." Boo hoo.
Also, this is a message board, people act different behind a keyboard as opposed to real life, if you are jsut realizing that now, we got bigger issues.
I've got bigger issues? Yeah, I guess the keyboard thing. I just gotta live with it. Some host you'd make, lol.
Man, thanks for absolutely proving my point.Last edited by jim416; 05-13-2009, 12:09 AM.Comment

No, it's not. Have you tried one of the rosters from the roster forum that pretty much stabilizes the problem?Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
Unfortunately the roster "fixes" don't fix everything. I was about to bring up in one of the roster forums the subject of Alex Rios. Is there any way to edit the Blue Jays order to keep Rios from hitting second -- and sometimes leadoff -- without compromising his abilities?
The roster guys did a tremendous job, but unfortunately when guys get a day off, some of those headaches come back. Right now, I've noticed Rios is still hitting second a lot without any players getting a day off. After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!Comment

We just have to accept the "alternate reality" of the franchise with CPU roster control OFF this year, but at least the edits do help those that have it off.

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
Hey doc. I can't recall if I already asked you this or not somewhere in one of these threads. I plan on simming through spring training, setting the lineups, and then using your two controller method to set the lineups for each game that I play.
Will this still work if I plan on using Knight's non-patch V5 rosters, or do I need to have the patch for work-around? Thanks...
If you play with CPU roster control on, some minor lineup edits for guys like Helton, and use my roster control ON lineup workaround (and with a second controller), it all works out pretty good. I haven't had a problem yet with sim games or games I actually play with all 3 of my franchises. One franchise is stock rosters, one is Knights lineup fix, and one is Ridins with no career stat glitch. All three are working out fine, lineup and rotation wise. But, it definitely has been more work this year. It's not ideal, but at least I can deal with it. The gameplay itself this year is absolutely brilliant overall. Had a 15 inning marathon tonight which is keeping me up late, lol.
FYI: Here's another thing I have noticed. Even with CPU Roster control ON, if you try to put a team on a 4 man rotation (like happens at time especially in the beginning of the year), the CPU "fixes" it back to a 5 man rotation after you exit anyway (it looks correct, but when you sim or play it isn't anymore). So in order to do a 4 man, you have to move your SP1 to the SP5 position and subsequently everyone else which sucks too, but oh well.Comment

If you use CPU roster control ON, just use my workaround I posted. If not, well, ratings adjustments are all you can do this year. We just have to accept the "alternate reality" of the franchise with CPU roster control OFF this year, but at least the edits do help those that have it off.

I am shocked at the state of things in this forum. I remember when there were a core of 30 people in this forum just talking baseball. Now that this game has become popular it gets looked at under a microscope and dissected daily. The manner at which it gets done is really poor.

I know that we need new members to keep OS going, but sometimes less is more. The Show Forum used to be one of if not the best forums on OS and now IMO it is the worst.
What ever the issues are with the game, SCEA will and always come through.

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
I just don't know why we don't have 1 Rant and 1 Rave thread in each forum. The Ranters can have their own place to vent but if they go outside that thread, BAN.
Same for the Ravers. Make a thread for appreciation of the game.
The developers and readers can read each thread individually.
On a patch related note, We all know about the replays being broken for the time being. If you turn Batter walkups off does it automatically go straight to the HR flashback? That way for the time being you wouldn't have to worry about hitting X during a flashback and missing the post game replays.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment
