Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
yeh, i thought about that work around too...
but the issue would still remain to me since i would like to use the DH position to rest(or tire less) players like the real A's do...
they DH giambi once in a while to rest his legs, move Cust to the Rf and put nomar at 1B..
But it doesnt work if the DH tires more than a position player.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.
You too can be a 5* recruit at FSU.......

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
You've got to be one of the most disagreeable chaps here.
It (DH fatigue issue) doesn't bother me much, but you're missing one important point they make however, the DH's tire much more than the guys that play the field. How do you sweep that one under the rug?
The only idea I have to "fix" this one is to change all DHs stamina to 100 or close to it. How does that work out?Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
Russel, simple question, objective...just so i and other people dont get high hopes and can move along...
Is there any possible chance of a new pacth??or is this 09 cycle done??(thats my guess) I ask that becasue i cant remember SCEA coming up wiht more than 2 pacthes in any of the past years.
Seriously, I'm not in the dumps like some are, but I do find the roller coaster of these issues to be pretty frustrating myself. I was just getting ready to add my own edits to one of Knight's fine rosters and go to town. Now, I'm on pause again, until we get some concrete info...lol. It's probably the longest I've waited to get deep into this game!
On a side note, I don't recall more than two patches released either, but I also don't recall things seeming this scrambled at this point.
Hopefully Russell can answer that question for us. It's generally easier to let something go when you know it's a done deal (as unfortunate as that news may end up being for many here).Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
Has anyone tried upping the stamina of the DH guys? I recall them saying they reworked stamina a bit at one point, and guys who DH tend to be (if not just plain old BAD fielders...lol) on the back 9 of their career or have some health concerns. Maybe their bar is just too low and the game is more sensitive to that this year? Just an idea.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
I'm guessing it's because DHs have low stamina and this is probably related to the amount of games they play. If you actually look at the amount of games most DHs play, it's often lower than position players. I can't find any DH that played in 162 games. This might have to do with DHs getting injured or not being very good, but you don't see DHs that play 162 games. Edgar Martinez, the greatest DH of all time, played 155 games in his most games played season.
really, there are several factors that make DH's not play 162, and none of them are related to the fact that u will get tired less playing as a DH than as a position player, for the simple fact that instead of beeing on the field when your team is pitching ull be resting on the bench---------------

Well I just had the replay glitch happen again. I pressed the L3 to start recording and it just went to ok the video is ready......I had a great replay of the Runner running over the catcher too
I cant even get a Picture now either
Guess I got lucky for two games that it worked.

Ortiz has had 155+ game seasons.
Frank Thomas played in 155 with the Jays in 2007 at DH
Maybe not 162 games, but guys do get hurt too - often guys miss 5 or 10 games because of nagging injuries. This doesn't mean that the DH sits out every 5 games because they are tired.
Playing 155 games equates to sitting out every 23 games and the DH's on this game are tired after 5. There's obviously a bit of a fatigue problem.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
For what it's worth:
I have a Franchise in progress (about 45 games in) with the Cards based on some very early roster release because I am impatient(Yes, it does have the historical stats glitch).
I d'l the patch last night and played a game and had no problems...no crash, and replays after the game were fine.
I'm planning on starting up a new game in a few minutes here, so I'll post again if I have any problems.
Add me to the list of people that were looking forward to a tweak in the DH Fatigue, and a fix of the DL issue...I have 4 guys on the 60 Day DL and 3 on the 15 day...it's getting thin in here.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
Show me evidence that DHs play more games than position players? If DHs didn't fatigue in this game, they would be playing in too many games. Yes, managers rest players at DH, but the Show could not incorporate this unless DHing was equivalent to a day off. If this was programmed, DHs would always have perfect fatigue and would be playing in too many games in a season. There's no "DH bug" because it works in the game as the programmers intended.
Managers do like to rotate guys through DH at times to get other people rest but that depends on the quality of the DH player. A guy like Giambi or Ortiz would almost always be in the lineup while a guy like Marcus Thames of the Tigers will still only play about 2/3 of the time (when healthy). If the developers created a false DH fatigue just to rotate guys out of the lineup, that is a bad solution.
Many of the people complaining still feel the game is a top notch baseball sim. The fact the game is so good and yet has these few stupid flaws that didn't get fixed (or created other problems) is what is making some people upset. It's like ordering a great steak in it and then finding a hair in the middle of it. I guess you just pick it out and keep eating.Comment
