Interesting take. You are right. It is weird that it happens after the patch Lets see what comes of this. Got my fingers crossed. Knowing the history of the SCEA Devs behind the show, I know they are reading this and will let us know what is causing the issue. They are top of the line devs and have been really involved with us.

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
With the patch...the CPU will use the lineups in the roster control screens....CPU vs. CPU(simmed games)....but when you go to play a game....the CPU will then choose to use the logic based lineup instead of the set lineup(IN GAME...at the lineup screen everything looks like it's the set lineup)

Russell mentioned that the CPU tries to make gametime decisions about their lineups (in one of his posts responding to my question )when you actually play a game. The lineups will look correct, but won't be once you start the actual game.
Read my lineup workaround thread I started for a way around this using a second controller, and the aforementioned lineup fixing after spring training OR use Knights lineup fix rosters until/if they fix this.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
Its like its running out of space.......If you play a couple innings and fast forward, you can always see them. If you play it out, it stops recording in the later innings.
Just a shot in the dark-
How do you guys access the Bullpen and pinch hitters? I do it through hitting start. But it seems like it stops recording about the time of a pitching change.......
Fistofrage, now you and some other posters here have me worried it may just stop working for me several games into my franchise.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
One thing I would add that is important to know is that even if you set your lineups before the game or before spring training, once you finish simming or ending spring training the cpu lineups will get scrambled again. I think this is because the CPU is trying to use its logic again to make lineups. You then have to go in and redo the lineups for the CPU teams. Then they will stick for simmed games only (check the box scores to see) for the most part (you may have to babysit the lineups in case players fatigue and the CPU overrides you again).

I haven't fired up the game since the patch was released. I am somewhat hesitant to do so. Any word on if a revised patch is due to be released to fix these issues? What?Comment

Sorry that didn't work for you (deleting Game save utility and/or game save files). So far so good with me. I do make pitching changes only by using the up directional pad method, don't know why that would make a difference, lol, but who knows with this game this year, lol. All this working around just to play. It's almost more work than work.

And now...it is home time.Comment

Thank you for the analysis. I guess I am still a bit unclear on something. Per Russell's patch notes, this bug was "fixed." SO I suppose it is actually not? Correct?
Also, is this glitch only when Roster Control is set to ON? Or does this also occur when you play a franchise with Roster Control set to OFF?

Doc i have one important question for you. What do you do if you only have one controller? I really don't want to go buy a new one because then it would make this game $120 and right now that isn't in the budget.Comment

Wow. Way to commit to the people waiting days, yes, literally days for some kind of word on another patch, to a patch that has screwed things up for the last 3 days. It's nothing personal, just frustration getting the best of me at this point. It is going on 2 months since this game was released, 2 patches, and basically more problems than when we started. . .Comment
