While I understand your frustration, and it is certainly shared by others, it is IMPERATIVE you understand that Russell, nor anybody else from SCEA is required to communicate with us on these boards. Russell goes above and beyond by coming on here and reading what we have to say, and more-so, by even replying. I'm sure he is held to very strict limitations by what he can and cannot divulge about the current situation with the game/patch. Cut him some slack for crying out loud! He acknowledged there is a problem, and he acknowledged that they think they found the cause of it. What more do you want at this point?

Please don't take this personal, but it is my opinion, that it is posts like the one you just made that are beginning to tarnish the reputation of the majority of OS'ers. Frankly, also in my opinion, I don't see why SCEA wouldn't cease using these boards altogether based on the number of negative comments such as that. Let them do what they do...it takes time. Give me ONE other forum where developers consistently go on and...

    1) Read what their customers are saying
    2) Respond to them
    3) Ask for input
    4) Implement that input
    5) Acknowledge problems and keep you informed

QUICK QUESTION--is this patch harmful for all franchises even ones started after downloading, or just those that were in progress prior to the patch? thanks.

You know what I know that's all I got at this time. Before yesterday there was no plan of doing another patch. Hence why I stated I would have an update. Well that has changed now and things are in limbo, don't know what we are going to do at this moment in time.

I would like a competent QA department that doesn't require developers to come to a message board to know what the damn problem is for a game THEY MADE!!!This isn't Russells fault, I know this, and he takes the brunt of mine and other's criticism because he is the man to come and talk with us. But seriously, the QA for this game seems absolutely horrendous.

So, you want the best of both worlds? You want it NOW and you want it to be FLAWLESS. Please...

Be patient, and let them work on it.

So, and Im not even sure you can answer this, but is the problems associated with pre-patch franchise crashes after the patch have anything to do with the schedule fix that was done? If so, couldnt you guys just eliminate this from the patch altogether and repost the patch at that point or am I just naive and dont understand how much work that is? I know your hands are tied in terms of the amount of information you can and cant share but I figured nothing gets accomplished without atleast asking about it. For the time being Im happy to continue my franchise and just not downloading the patch but there are portions of the patch that I would love to have access to so hopefully this all gets fixed for those of us wanting to continue our pre-patch franchises while using the patch.

I understand the frustration, but I can also understand why Russell and the rest of the SCEA crowd posts in the way that they do. I work for one of the largest companies in the world, and I never realized the implications of that until I started taking numerous training courses on confidentiality and legality of what we say. Regardless of whether I'm at work or away from work, the fact that I work for the company I do automatically ties whatever I say to the company I work for. When I'm away on a business trip, EVERYTHING I say or do can be considered representative of my company regardless of any "qualifier" I place on it. So I have to watch EVERYTHING I say and there's a lot of things I simply can not talk about for various legal reasons.

In the overly litigous society we live in today, if Russell came on here and said something, anything, that was even remotely confidential or offensive in any manner, SCEA and Sony could be sued for it. I actually feel pretty bad for Russell because he has to sit and think about EVERYTHING he types up in these forums before he actually posts it. I'm sure there is a LOT more he would like to say but he legally can't because whatever he says is representitive of the company he works for. Whether he likes that or not.

is the Franchise crash only happening to existing franchises pre patch? In other words if I start a new season after I downloaded the patch will it still crash? thanks.

Honestly, this thread has gotten embarrassing. I was aggravated like most when waiting for an answer on the second patch. And when we got it I was a little disappointed that some things weren't completely fixed. However, SCEA has proven again and again that they try to do the best for their customers (and before anyone says I'm an SCEA apologist go read some of my prior posts). This whole issue has gotten out of control. People are missing out on playing THE BEST SPORTS GAME EVER because of a few minor issues. It's really sad because these issues are so minor to the overall experience that many are missing out on an unbelievable game of baseball. I just hope Russell and others from SCEA can overlook some of the ridiculous comments and realize that a majority of us love and appreciate this game. Can it be better, Yes. But tell me one other sports out there right now that comes close to this game

What you are typing is so unecessary and at this point is doing more harm than good. Like I said about 5 times yesterday...... All these complaints that keep getting brought up over and over, Russell is aware of them. Why keep beating a dead horse?? Obviously they are trying to figure out what to do. Throwing hissy fits won't get us any further.

Ok. I apologize for going over the line. Just so dang frustrating and sometimes it gets the best of me. I appreciate everything these SCEA guys do, I just wanna say sorry for coming across and acting like a whiny baby.

My Lord, Russell is an adult, and I'm sure he can handle these posts, without breaking down and crying.

The post is not over the top, and asking for a substantive update to a very real issue (a messed up patch that hurts more then it helps).

Every corporation has a customer service department, Russell is essentially a customer service agent, fielding complaints is part of the job. SCEA takes advantage of these message boards because IT'S GOOD FOR BUSINESS to do so. Posters have a right to be frustrated, and to call out SCEA for problems with the product they sold.

Yeah, how dare us for wanting franchises, rtts to work properly

or wanting 2 pretty big features to work....it's a shame that I get no post game highlights anymore, it's also a shame after a great game I cant go look back at some of the big moments in the replay vault because all I get is a bat magically floating in the air.

Listen guys - I really think everyone just needs to step back and stop. People on both sides of the fence here. If you want to continue this flame war, use private messages. People have legitimate questions on this thread and it's getting to the point where answers are impossible to find.

The patch has a problem. The developers think they know what the problem is and they may or may not be fixing it. Russell will let us know if a fix is coming when he either knows, or is allowed to tell us.

That is the only thing that should be discussed right now. We've been going in a circle about this same issue for 70 pages now, I don't think anyone is going to change anyone's idea of who is right or who is wrong - this goes for the "whiners", the "apologists", and for the other 98% of the people on this forum that are somewhere in between.

Russell: Thank you for keeping us up to date. I hope you're feeling ok today and that everything is alright after yesterday. I for one appreciate your correspondance on these boards.
