Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
If the bases were loaded, then the outcome doesnt amtter as the runner is "pushed home" by the walk.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.
You too can be a 5* recruit at FSU.......

Thats correct. The runner on 3rd does not ahve to advance. There is no one "pushing him". The guy going from 1st to second can not be tagged out, but the runner from 3rd to home can be.

So what happens during the cutscene? Does the runner score?Last edited by Speedy; 04-30-2009, 03:03 PM.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Ok, i gotcha. I havent tried that (nor will I, seems a bit cheap), but your beef is with the fact that you can start the runner at third and score on that play when in real life, the catcher would stand up, walk about 10 inches and tag the runner out before he crosses home.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

The problem would be from 2nd to 3rd. Does the same thing happen?Comment

Every time I've been in that position, yes. It was in the 08' version as well. The solution to avoid the "cheese" is obviously to hold the runners, but as I mentioned - it's easier from a controller stand point - especially if you have another runner on besides third, is just to give the "steal all" command on the pitch.Comment

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here
I think the problem with this is, you're technically playing the game wrong, and a play like that wouldn't happen in real life. It reminds me of the Youtube videos in Madden of having all 11 guys on defense cover one receiver and STILL being able to complete a pass. Yeah, it's stupid, but the game wasn't intended to be played like that. Both Madden and The Show have plenty of legitimate problems, but expecting the developers to code for every style of unorthodox/unrealistic play is a bit much to ask. This is a sim, remember.Comment
